selling players and borrowing one back from the same club seems the way we do it now. what happens when we run out of players to sell?

Reminds me a little bit of when Stuart Terry went to Northwich because he wanted to "play for a big club", something that became part of a chant that haunted him on his every return to Moss Lane.

Maybe Toby looked around him and decided he never knew who his team mates were going to be from one week to the next and didn't want to be at a club that gave the distinct impression it was making it up as it went along.

1-1 F/T
Alty won 2-0 on pens after VM missed all four of their attempts.

Altrincham FC keep telling us about their ambition to progress up the divisions, but they seem determined to do it without their own players.

We won't really have had a team this season, just a collection of players (some good some not as good) in Alty shirts.

So could end up back in this division next season the way Rochdale are going. Club gets a fee, he gets to play in a higher division for three months, and I suppose he is getting paid more money.

what on earth is he going to learn at waterford that he wouldn't have learned at altrincham? precisely nothing.

if toby has already turned down portsmouth why would he want to go to grimsby or chesterfield?

I thought either PP or Toby (can't remember which) said at the start of the season that Portsmouth didn't make an offer.

once again my shocking lack of research has let me down.

I was caught out by this last year but Chesterfield, despite being in Derbyshire, are covered by BBC radio Sheffield. Our game is live on there tonight.

not listed on the bbc sport website for some reason.

Thanks for the update John .  After missing a full season , having Kossy back will be like a new signing.

I’m absolutely on board with him waiting until next season. He’s too good a player to rush back.

I’d rather have a fully fit Kosylo in August than an unfit one in April, far too serious an injury to take chances with.

plus the bonus of all the red cards we haven't racked up.

looking to see if bbc local radio in derbyshire was covering our game tonight (they aren't)  and i notice that radio manchester is covering NON-LEAGUE oldham's game at york tonight. they didn't cover stockport in non-league, and they don't cover altrincham, so how come they are still covering oldham?
