We were on the BBC Non-League Show last night.
They have a bit of the show where a Cockney cabby tells us about some the best places to visit in Non-League in a ludicrous Dick van Dyke accent - this week he suggested Moss Lane, mentioning our good value for money, our FA Cup tradition, the fact the Barnet game was the first outside the FL to be televised, and the fact we used to put a pig on the wall ;D

I have no memory of this. Please tell me more!
I do remember the Fantasy Football League spoof of the Norwegian commentator (Maggie Thatcher, your boys took one hell of a meeting!) for when Norway beat Holland: "The boy who put his finger in the dyke, Dick van Dyke, Martina Navratilova...your boys took one hell of a beating...!"

Apparently in our really early days, we used to put a pig on the wall to let the locals know we had a home game. I really hope it's true, I love quirky little stories like that.

Time to bring that tradition back methinks!

Saughall,
Hang your head in shame at such blasphemy.
Tunna - still the man with a better goals per game ratio than Dale Johnson.....
-
And the skill to match. I still remember a sublime little back heel the big man played in a one-two move down our right flank at Canal Street in one of his early matches (shooting down the slope).
-
Shooting on canal street - oh please !!!

Sorry Cult, Just saw the 'pig on the wall' thing and went off on one as the saying goes! Have a 'G' as reparation ;)

I bet that the pig would spend more time in those offices than on the wall if it we still did something like that. No posters up for the Mansfield game yet when I walked past last night. Poor effort.

To be fair, the London gentleman is pretty complimentary about his visit to Moss Lane, can't help being reminded of this though:

Or "pillocks seldom differ"......who knows, but I really don't think you want to say that your mind works like mine (unless you're after medication).
