Is Ken lucky or brilliant?
« on: October 03, 2010, 11:45:12 AM »

Personally, I'd take either.
To gain the points we have in the last four games with  a substandard team (we are clearly carrying 3,4 or maybe 5 players), and gaining momentum, is a huge bonus for us. I wouldn't be surprised if even Ken wasn't expecting much of an improvement until he has had the chance to rebuild .
I'd prefer a brilliant manager, as I believe Ken to be, but a lucky one would be almost as good at the moment!!

I won't stick my neck out on the "brilliant" front, but his tactical changes which give us more attacking motivation are a good start.

Lucky ? He certainly was yesterday, and I'll be hoping for more of the same until we actually have a complete squad of decent players.

Well he is getting results from players that we were constantly told were not good enough (not something I believed in all players) and that was all that was available for part time Altrincham, so therefore I would say...

GIVE MESSIAH MCKENNA THE JOB !!!!

** Maybe a whole fresh approach around the place was just what was needed. No more "Well this is what we should expect", "We should be happy to be in the league", "We have a Conf North budget", "Who else would want the job","Who do you expect us to be able to sign" has now gone for good and one of the most famous names in non league football can build up to the top again, without excuses or negativity from the start.

People hear the above so much then they believe it. POSITIVITY and always wanting to improve is what having a football club is all about. Not just being content.

Their 2 goals were from silly and avoidable errors and they just had one other shot on target
Shots on target
3 Alty v R&D 1
so, just because we had relatively little possession and were not the better team, I am not sure we were lucky to get the draw as we stopped R&D from getting shots on target while we had three.

Is that not an organised defence (& Marc Joseph!)?

And don't forget 9 goals in 4 games...!

Maybe 'Lucky', but you create your own luck by being positive.
