Altrincham FC First Team / Predictions for Colwyn Bay game
« on: January 06, 2012, 08:29:56 AM »
Well, they,ve lost their last three games (including the indignity of conceding a Kevin Holsgrove goal at Vauxhall) and are plummeting down the table.
I've thought for a while now that we are going to give someone an almighty battering here at Moss Lane, I think we could outdo our result there earlier on this season.
Seven or eight to Alty.

(Cue 0-0 draw!!!)

Altrincham FC First Team / Remember Weymouth 0 - Rushden 9 in 2009??

Kettering v Grimsby certainly has the potential to go a similar way.
Non league football is still an area where bookies are vulnerable, one for any gamblers amongst us to keep an eye on!!

Can we send a runner to Cambridge and tell him not to come back without Stevie Connors!!
If ever there was one player who could turn a team around, this is that time.
In a way I am pleased this has happened today, this is truly a watershed moment, things cannot be the same again after this performance. Our defence needs revamping and midfield needs to give them that extra protection. I really don't think (and I shudder to say it) that our defence last year was any worse.
I really feel for Lee tonight, what a rotten week he has had.

Altrincham FC First Team / I'm not normally one for cliches, but...

this is a real six pointer.
If we slip thirteen points behind Stalyvegas i can't see us catching them, but seven points is a whole different ball game.
As long as we come out all guns blazing early doors, use the full width of the park and let the ball do the work, we have every chance of sticking more in the onion bag and coming back to Moss Lane with a result.

Altrincham FC First Team / Altrincham FC-Mad
« on: October 15, 2011, 08:50:01 AM »
Anyone know who is behind this?
Their info seems less than accurate and their  predictions tend to suffer as a result. Victories for Colwyn Bay and Boston?
They predict a 'morale boosting' home win today, as obviously we are all depressed after last weekends debacle!!
Still, I suppose we can't complain that another party is taking an interest, no matter how poorly informed, in us.

Altrincham FC First Team / Have we forgotten our trip to North Wales?
« on: September 19, 2011, 07:41:41 PM »
I know we are now on the Wembley trail, but there is the small matter of trying to regain our pride and give our confidence a boost tomorrow night.
Having Danylyk back in midfield will be a start, but what else do we need to do to finally gain that away victory??

Altrincham FC First Team / Reevesy to Wrexham?
« on: September 13, 2011, 08:13:36 AM »

What would our thoughts be on losing Damien to the knobsock.
I imagine we would receive a transfer fee but I think he would be hard to replace.Thjs could seriously impact our season if true.
Let's hope it's just a rumour!!

Altrincham FC First Team / Time to get this Season Back on Track
« on: September 09, 2011, 09:46:31 AM »
Is this the weekend we finally start to establish ourselves as contenders?
Scoring doesn't seem to be a problem, and hopefully Lee has sorted the problems we had in defence. If we can manage a convincing victory tomorrow, some other teams might start to take notice.

3 - 0 to Alty!!

I haven't enjoyed a game as much as Harrogate for a long time.
Club bar in the ground, friendly locals, great atmosphere, alty being one of the bigger teams in the league means it's now a real occasion for 'smaller' clubs when we are there, plus  the game was an absolute cracker with Alty playing some great attacking football.
Compare this to some of the virtually empty, soulless grounds we were in last year, trying to scrape a point in a desperate bid for survival. £20 to get a seat that you couldn't move from.
I think I'm happier in the BSN.

Altrincham FC First Team / How many goals will we score?
« on: August 14, 2011, 11:53:46 AM »
After watching yesterdays debacle, I still cannot see how we scored less than double figures. It must have been a freakish mix of poor finishing, lucky last ditch defending, very skilful last ditch defending and Damians' heroic block on Seans' goalbound effort after about 5 mins.

I reckon we will score over a hundred and win the league, after yesterdays' game. It's only two and a half goals per game!!
(Whether we will achieve a positive goal difference is debatable, though!!)

57
Altrincham FC First Team / An Outrageous Prediction?
« on: July 26, 2011, 11:58:10 AM »
I  reckon our very own Michael Twiss will be the BSN top scorer this season.
With Nicky to feed off he will have rich pickings indeed!!

58
The Wrexham Supporters Trust ( the only people bidding for the club) looks to have had their bid rejected by the current owners, though where they were going to find the 2 million reputedly needed to buy the ground and related items is another subject for discussion.
Even if they start the season, it is very unlikely they would make it to Xmas, players wages not being paid, creditors not being paid etc

Relevance to Alty?
If the Conference had any bottle, this would have been sorted at the AGM, the club was up for sale then.
We would still be in the BSPB now!!
(Though to be fair, I'm looking forward to a season or two in the BSN.)

I know you'll all be waiting with baited breath....

It had to happen, he just signed for Chester. He should be at home in that tin-pot pub league  :) :) :)
