Altrincham FC First Team / Will You Miss Going to Last Years Away Games
« on: August 05, 2014, 03:51:49 PM »
I will definitely miss going to Colwyn Bay this season.
Three very enjoyable visits last year, despite the locals, all resulting in victories.
Hope Frank can get them promoted this season!!

Altrincham FC First Team / Who will be Conference Top Scorer

I wonder if Damian is worth a punt at 66/1.
We certainly have the players to feed him the ball and give him chances.

Looks like they might have a tidy forward line next season.
They'll be rubbish at the back though!!

Altrincham FC First Team / Choose one Premiership player for Alty
« on: June 16, 2014, 05:08:41 PM »
Bearing in mind our current squad, if you could choose one Premier League player for Alty, who would it be.
I think there is one stand out candidate, and I wouldn't forget to send him a birthday card!

Altrincham FC First Team / George Horan

So he's left Chester today. I believe there was talk of him coming to us during last season.
With Mike Williams back from injury though, do we need another centre back?

Altrincham FC First Team / Chester Hooligans
« on: June 06, 2014, 09:16:28 AM »
There will be a documentary on Channel 5 next week on football hooliganism and apparently Chester are one of the featured clubs.
Naturally this has caused outrage on Deva Chat as their club doesn't have any sort of problem in that regard. If they had been standing where I was in the Golf Road in the game last year they might change their minds, I certainly witnessed some of the most sickening scenes I have ever seen at Moss Lane.
Maybe they should put their own house in order before shooting the messenger.

Altrincham FC First Team / Richman or Rodgers
« on: May 09, 2014, 03:23:03 PM »
As I see it there is only one possible team selection issue for tomorrow.
As Guiseley may be slightly weaker in the midfield than usual, I think Simon Richman is the man to take advantage as he is normally better going forward.
It's a close call between him and Rodgers though.

Altrincham FC First Team / According to Carl Piergianni..

So no horror shows for Carl then at Moss Lane. Granted he was one of our better defenders while he was here, (not saying much), but he must have blanked out his starring role in Duncans goal against Corby last season...

Altrincham FC First Team / Adam Griffin

Is AG really worthy of a starting place over Buzz every week?
I don't think there's much between them defensively and Buzz gives us that extra option going forward. This would have worked against Harrogate when Nicky was double-teamed for most of the game.
Nothing against AG, I would just prefer a player like Buzz who we can rely on to play his heart out every week.

It's on BT Sport, KO 7.45.

Altrincham FC First Team / Serious Improvement Needed
« on: November 01, 2013, 09:02:41 AM »
What on earth has happened to our goal celebrations.
Maybe we were spoilt in the past with Youngy and Chris Senior but now we are lucky if someone raises a smile. Reevesy looks embarrassed when he scores and if we are fortunate we might see James Walshaw shake someones hand.
I expect serious improvement when we score tomorrow.
