Only managed to get a copy this morning. In reply to Cult and as a very close friend of Chris Benson I do know that his nominated Man of the Match was Darren Tinson. Chris couldn't get over how well the man played in what was a very good Alty performance for 66 minutes. He was upset that someone at the paper had given Elam the accolade, Mind you Elam didn't half make an impact

The impact was due to fast fresh legs against weary not tackling legs and a good dose of offside!

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that a player who has been on the pitch for a few minutes is going to run the socks off someone who has played 80 plus.
IMO the papers often watch different games and just look at stats to come up with the MOM instead of actually taking a measured view over the whole 90 minutes.
