Title: Colin Potts
Post by: Mrs Warbouys on August 19, 2007, 07:04:07 PM
Im I the only one that would like to see him start a game? ,it would nice to see us go at grays next week, rather than being cautious and waiting for them to score. We tore rotherham into pieces when we went at them with an attacking formation in pre-season, and I have no issue with conceedng four, aslong as we score five.

That would be interesting, I would also like to see Rod have a start.

It's the old stick or twist isn't it but I for one wouldn't damm Graham if we just went out and gave it a lash. Lets face it, none of the players are as keyed up as GH which is why we concede goals at the start of each half all the time, may as well see if we can get our retaliation in first so to speak.

                             Coburn

Lane         Munroe          Tinson        Peyton

Potts       Sedgemore     Owen        Thornley

               Little               O'Neill

Subs

Lawton, Rose, Berkley,  Whalley,  Coo

Berkely and Whalley to come on after 65 mins and for whalley to thread berkley throught to run on to the passes.

Lawton to replace Potts after 80 mins to help hold our 4-1 lead.

Injuries and goals permitting :-)

Only seen yesterday's game this season so judgements obviously unfair but he's my starting XI

Coburn

Lane
Tinson
Munroe
Peyton

Lawton
Owen
Whalley
Senior

Little
O'Neil

subs
Rose (on to stop Karl getting sent off as yesterday, to be fair he got no help from ref with the striker clattering him)
Sedge
Thornley
Berkley
Acton (not worth the risk in my view)

Why the love of Lawton on the right?

He simply can't play in that position.

Everyone seems to be putting a team out with no bite in midfield, we saw on saturday that our midfield offered little in protection for the back 4 with only Val really breaking up play,

I would be inclined to go for

Coburn

Lane
Munroe
Tinson
Peyton

Sedgmore Right Mid
Val
Lawton
Whalley Left Midfield

Little
O'Neil

Subs

Rose
Scott
Coo
Potts
Senior

Robbie Lawton has had his best games for the club in centre midfield, thats where he should be playing in my humble opinion.

Strength is a huge asset in this league, and this is something that Colin can employ on the pitch. His crosses could feed Little, who has been gagging for some straight forward finishes. He will be knackered after an hour, but at least we have options to replace him now. There is no harm in giving him a go.... ;)

It seams a lot of people a re putting very attach minded teams out. At home I'd agree with this; home is where most of our points will come from. But away from home we need to be solid and protect the defence, Lawton, Owen and Whalley with O'Neil and Jake either side for me.
