what a shame i did and probably still will find their attitude a tad arrogant.
Hope morecambe win the final

we can point out that to these ex league clubs that think we are all tinpot and that automatic promotion weakens the football league when actually they weaken our league next year york, exeter, torquay , oxford ,cambridge, aldershot, halifax are all traditional league cliubs who are struggling to get back (almost 1 third of the league)

Yea I could just see Oxford in the BSS/N, though if Ossett make it to BSP can you imagine the response to a last minuet Ossett equaliser?

First time I've laughed in 17 days!

I predict we'll be back playing in the the 5 tier of English football before they get out of it.

Life's not so bad after all.

Did anyone watch the match? It was pretty good. Exeter's had a goal disallowed for offside (and it never was) as did oxford (but that definately was). Duffy missed an amazin chance that could have wrapped the game up but i think over the match exeter deserved to win. they were the much better side. The final should be a good match, anybody know when it is?

May 14th or something like that, at wembley as well, bizarre!

Really hope Morecombe do it, which is wierd given their manager and the general fact that i never particularly liked them. They seem to be doing things the right way, not going mad with the money, perhaps i'm wrong.

Oxford, haha, they did set themselves up for a massive fall with their arrogance!

You hit the nail on the head when you said they are doing things the right way. I think we would do well to follow their example and in many ways we are already doing this. They have a youth setup to be proud of (as do Alty) and have made steady progress on and off the pitch during the 12/13 years they have been in the conference. No silly spending or false expectation from a sugar daddy chairman.

I hope they win it and do well next year.

Sorry to rain on the parade a bit lads.

Whilst many of Morecambes principles are right (good youth team, doing the ground bit by bit) they are propped up by huge sums of non returnable donations from their chairman who is the boss of Umbro.

I'm sure Rich will tell us more but I think its in the region of £250,000 a year.

Had a feeling this may be the case, unfortunately it seems that you cannot move up from the conference without having substantial investment with no sight of return.

Who was the last team to go up without having a benefactor of some kind?

When will these clubs realise that they just aren't big enough. 250k is outrageous, but hardly suprising in this day and age. Its so sad to see what is happening to all these clubs like boston, crawley, halifax, oxford (soon), scarborough, cambridge, leeds...... the list is endless.

ok they all have different circumstances but it all connects to clubs living beyond their means, does nobody think of the fans who love the club and suffer the most when it all collapses. Typically the FA will do nothing to regulate it, so as not to upset the apple cart.

That'll be Dagenham and .........

Leytonstone & Ilford (sale of ground at Midland Road E11)
Walthamstow Avenue (sale of ground at Green Pond Lane E17)
Dagenham FC (appropriation of Victoria Road ground as part of merger with Redbridge Forest FC)

Redbridge then.

Done well recently but only on the back of about £5m ...
