The draw is being made today at the (monthly) conference meeting. The clubs are being told the draw tomorrow.

No, I don't understand why either.

To fix the draw so they get a decent TV tie?

I believe that only the Final is being televised this season. My guess is that the draw will be announced on Setanta tonight before or after the Forest Green Rovers v Cambridge United game is broadcast.

Actually, it would be interesting to know the economics of the situation with regard to the costs involved in staging a night match like this, the money taken at the gate and the prize money.

The draw for this competition... it's fixed, isn't it? In this round and the last, they've basically paired as many neighbouring (or near-ish to each other) clubs as possible, with the odd Telford v Cambridge thrown in to give a semblance of randomness.

I can't say it bothers me overly. But the nakedness of the rigging is extraordinary.
