Just to advise those who knew the great man, he sadly passed away, peacefully this morning, surrounded by his family.

He was an Altrincham fan in the days of no supporters attending away matches, he used to travel, as a boy, on the team coach in the 1960s.  Mentioned with admiration in David Conn's book, The Football Business.
