Following the recent decision by Conference not to allow Eastwood Town to take part in the play offs despite finishing fourth and having the longest unbeaten streak in BSN, manager Paul Cox has today resigned. This follows the decision to put the club up for sale for £1. His track record shows a rise from bottom of table Unibond to top four in BSN in under 5 years. Reaching third round of FA cup in the process and claiming league scalps.
His success was financially supported by old school friend Rob Yong owner of the Dawn til Dusk poker rooms and the successful SF Group, his ambition being to steer his local club to Conference standard and beyond. With those hopes dashed he will no doubt be looking to invest elsewhere and perhaps install Cox as manager again with a view to building another successful team.
What the future now holds for Eastwood is to be seen.
