Lost points from chester if they go
« on: November 26, 2009, 02:15:15 PM »

May have got the odd thing wrong here but Had a look at chester's results and this is who would lose what; and the league table with new points after a gap....looks like we'll drop 2 or three places .....stevenage who would lose 6 points would stay joint where they are!!!FGR big losers gap wise though!!! didn't take into account GD...be interesting if someone could do a proper league table but it doesn't look like too much would change drastically..

Don't think goals come into it............just the points are lost

If some form of expunging takes place, there will be merry hell from the likes of Stevenage and threats of legal action, especially since it will be likely to impact more on play-off places (and the money they bring) than mid table obscurity !

Surely if you lose the points then the goals have got to go too? You can't just carry on being credited with goals scored in a match which, in effect, didn't take place.

Deary me this is pathetic. They shouldn't have let them start the season. I bet there are players who've picked up knocks in the games against Chester, and for what? Sweet Fanny Adams.

Latest on Devachat is the players and manager are on strike having not been paid, the physio has left the club after 12 weeks without cash, and the whole thing is about to go to the wall. What a mess.

its a bloody shame if they do go under and all that hard graft by us last Saturday (and in fairness other clubs) is all for sweet FA.

How many more clubs are going to create these unacceptable situations of spending money they havent got. and not paying there day to day debts and creditors.
I feel for the fans more than anyone.

It is one big orrible mess.

My first away game for most probably F*** all. I suppose it served the purpose of ending Alty's losing streak.

Essentially we are affected more than anyone apart from Stevenage, as we are losing 4 points, whereas every other team has only managed 3 or less!

B*llocks.

Someone must know the exact answer ?? Anyone

I know we would lose 4 points and this would be a bitter blow, whereas some teams would lose less. However you have to take into account that some clubs won't have played Chester twice like we have and in theory have been 'denied' the chance of gaining 3 points from their game.
If it is a home game, they have also been denied the income that is generated from matchday sales, turnstile income, sponsors lounge etc.........if they do go - at least we had a decent home crowd !

The draw against Forest Green ended our "losing streak".

Chester's record would be wiped out, therefore points AND goals would go. Only previous instance in this League was Newport County.

Ironically, it looks as though they may be returning next season!

Tamworth have beaten them twice this season.

I agree Chester should not have been allowed into this league in the first place: the conference needs to really tighten up the financial criteria for relegated ex league clubs. Chester seem to be relying on a parachute payment from the Football League which is a discretionary payment.
