Thailand are no mugs
« on: January 13, 2008, 11:40:37 AM »

They recently won the annual kings cup and won all the group games and obviously the final, wins over Uzbekistan, Iraq (twice ) and North Korea are not to be sniffed at,

http://www.thaifootball.com/tournaments/kingcup/kingcup-2007.html

Baring in mind that Iraq are the current asian cup holders, beating Saudi Arabia (who've appeared the world cup finals on numerous occasions) 1-0 in the final last summer.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/internationals/6920434.stm

They finshed 3rd in the same group as Iraq and Australia in the asain cup in the summer, and only failed to go through the group stages as australia pipped them on goal difference!!!!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asian_Cup_2007#Tournament_summary

They are ranked 121 in the world, but were actually ranked as high as 43 in the world back in 1998

Im thinking they will be a stronger side than Malawi who beat us 2-3 thanks to a last minute Sherry Msuku goal in 2002

Well said Hughesy

International footballers are 'international' footballers, it doesn't matter if they are from the Faroe Islands or wherever.....they will be a good standard

We'll have to try and find a chink in their armour.

It's a race of people and it's a kind of food, Mr Partridge.

My politically correct Libdem councillor Jennifers Mum does not like me using the word Chinkie (despite the fact there is a take awy in Kilmarnock that answers the phone "New Farm Chinkie!")

Anyway, Goodwins for the chance to show that to her.

BTW. Do they play in shirt & Thai?

....and a language and an airline and a strain of MJ (our only hope would be if they smoke a sh*tload before taking to the pitch).
