Shocked and saddened to hear of the death of young James.  I didnt know him that well but he always nodded and said Hi whenever we met and he seemed a cheery bloke ..... You dont expect something like this to happen to one so young..

Condolencies to his family

RIP lad

Couldn't get onto the facebook page so will leave my tribute here......

James was an absolute legend, and a diehard Alty fan. I remember many a hilarious moment involving James, although I didn't know him that well, he was a real character at the club.

RIP mate

I was shocked and saddened when I heard the news.

This forum will be a less colourful place without James.

He may have had some opinions we didn't all agree with but he was a true Alty fan and will be missed around Moss Lane.  He was always getting involved and helping out wherever he could.

Thoughts and best wishes with his family

He died of a sudden cardiac arrest, RIP James

Thanks for letting us know.

As others have said, we may not have all agreed with some of his views, but there was NO doubting his passion. The forum will most certainly be a less colourful place.

Once again thoughts go out to his family and close friends.

Had one or two run-ins with James over the years, but I will never forget the smile I got when I met him when I was visiting his school - sadly only 3 or 4 years ago, I think he was so pleased to see a fellow Alty fan in an unexpected place.
As a Mum I can only imagine the pain his family are feeling at the moment.
My thoughts and prayers are with them at this very difficult time.

Condolences from the Lewis family

Unbelievebly tragic news....and so young! Am struggling to hold back the tears writing this...
I didn't know him that well myself but he was always friendly and we would exchange some banter and a smile when we bumped into each other at Alty games or elsewhere. My mum was his cubscout leader, she was very chuffed that he had found a hobby and passion in Alty and that he was well accepted by the other fans. I don't know if she knows yet, I'm sure she'll be very upset.
He may not have been the best at punctuating, but neither are we.
His heart was always in the right place - and that's the most important thing!

Condolances from all the Nattrass family and from 4th Hale Scout group

James Black, Funeral service on Friday 1st May at 10.30am. Location Christ Church, Thorley lane,Timperley. Followed by refreshments at Timperley sports club. Think of James when choosing what to wear - he was always a very cheerful person with a passion for football!! No flowers charities tbc on the day. Thank you for your wall post, these have helped us a great deal - James family hope to see you next week.

Although I'm not sure I ever spoke to James, I definately saw him around at matches. I thought his posts on here were very entertaining and I admired the way he always spoke his mind - as he was obviously a dedicated fan it could be said that his opinions were worth more than many.

RIP James

It would nice and comforting for James's family if they saw Alty fans at his funeral, as this would remind them of James's passion in life.
Obviously I cannot go as I live 220 miles away. Maybe some of you could discuss this on the coach or at Cambridge tomorrow?
My contribution is to remember James the way he was (paticularly his posts on this forum) and I will pray for him/his family in my own way.
R.I.P James
