I see they've just released 21 players.
Wonder if Sam Wedgbury is amongst them, one of our few successful loanees of recent times.

Wedgbury is one of only 12 players they've retained.

There are though two ex-Robins on the released list - Jon Bateson and Lewis Chalmers

I suspect players like Chalmers have been released cos they don't want to drop to the Conference and/or are too expensive. I'd love Lewis back, but would he go p/t and could we afford him?

Steve King was on the non league show last night.

loads of the players think they are better than conference football... despite not being good enough to keep macc there... Lewis Chalmers is for sure one of them.

I wouldn't mind betting that most released by macc will struggle to get offers from bsbp clubs let alone league 2

I don't see why.  It was the manager's fault that Macclesfield were relegated, not the players!  ;)

Jose Veiga, Matty Hamshaw, and possibly Vinny Mukendi and Lewis Chalmers would be expected to get another League 2 gig. Nobody else on the released list leaps out at me as being worth the worry.
