Altrincham FC First Team / Madjo doubtful for saturday??
« on: September 27, 2007, 01:26:23 PM »
Might just be paper bollocks, but you never know

CRAWLEY boss Steve Evans is confident the club's owners will only cash in on top scorer Guy Madjo if they receive a big money offer.

Madjo has attracted plenty of attention from League clubs since scoring nine goals in 11 starts following his arrival at Broadfield Stadium from Stafford Rangers in the summer.

A number of clubs are thought to be preparing to swoop for the 23-year-old striker when the transfer window reopens in January but Evans is keen to hold onto his prized asset.

Evans said: "We've had five or six enquiries about Guy and that is not surprising considering the way he has been playing this season.

"We don't welcome them but I am confident the owners would want to keep Guy if something firm happened in the transfer window as he is a big part of what we are trying to achieve here.

"Obviously we live in the real world and if somebody came in with a bid which overvalued Guy I would recommend we sell him but it would have to be worth our while.

"The owners have shown they are willing to back us when they turned down a bid for Jamie Stevens before the transfer window closed so I think it would be unlikely if they wanted to sell our top scorer."

Madjo is a major doubt for tomorrow's home clash with Altrincham after taking a heavy knock on his calf towards the end of Tuesday's 1-0 defeat at Ebbsfleet United.

He limped away from Stonebridge Road clutching the man-of-the-match champagne following another battling display and has been undergoing intensive treatment since.

Evans is desperate for the Cameroon striker to recover in time as Reds look to maintain their unbeaten home record but is confident either Magno Vieira or Pierre Joseph-Dubios can grab their chance if Madjo does not make it.

He added: "Guy would be a big loss as he is the Conference's leading scorer and a lot of our play goes through him. He is such a hard worker for the team and would be hard to replace.

"We will do everything we can to get him on the pitch but we have got to be wary of playing him if it could make things worse as we need him for the whole season, not just one match.

"We've got very capable replacements in Magno and Pierre and they deserve a chance to show what they can do. Magno scored two on his last start so is a bit unlucky not to be playing anyway.

"It is going to be a tough match as Altrincham have won their last two and will go into it full of confidence but we are determined to bounce back from what happened on Tuesday night.

"We were always going to review things after 13 games and if we can win it would mean we are in the top seven and that would be a fantastic achievement."

Mon 10 Dec 2007
16:00  depart.  Exeter (EXT)
17:05  arrive.  Manchester (MAN)

25 minute train journey from exeter to torquay is roughly £8 return, this is a viable option if you dont fancy doing it on the day, however you will have to spend TWO nights in in torquay as there is no sunday morning flight from manchester. Unfortunatly Exeter are away on the saturday at halifax or we could have made it a double header, unless anyone fancies taking in plymouth v brizzle ciddy on the saturday.

Its only ten minutes away, a lot of pople wont be able to make it to crawley next saturday due to distance etc, so it would be good for the players if we could have a large turn out at wincham park on tuesday and hopefully see the chaps make it 2 wins from 2,

Altrincham FC First Team / TOMORROW IS FRIDAY ......................
« on: September 20, 2007, 06:55:04 PM »
The day before a very important football match, we've all had a f**king bad week, and tempers have been frayed at all levels of the club.
But let it not be forgotton, the reason why the arguments, accuastions, insults etc have been flying about, one thing links all these together, everybodies love and concern for Altrincham football club.
Now is the time to put this to bed for a few days at least, and look towards getting a big crowd in moss lane on saturday afternoon spurring the lads on too a result that could turn our season.Tell everyone you know how important saturday might be come May next year, and let the football heal the wounds that may have been opened in this two days of madness, because its football that brings us all together in the first place. Now yuo may think this patronising or condesending of me,but I like everyone else, wants simply for the club to do well, I want EVERYONE, be it directors, management, players, club staff, regular supporters, armchair watchers,or just townsfolk in generel to watch this four minute clip below with the sound UP from start to finish, inwardly digest it, and move on ready for the weekend,TOGETHER AS ONE UNIT.
we're in hell right now gentlemen.

Altrincham FC First Team / Must get behind the team on saturday
« on: September 19, 2007, 12:15:22 PM »
All Alty fans far and wide must try and attend this game on saturday, we need to lift the lads as much as we can as supporters, I dont wont any negative stuff in reply to this post, as it stands we have no wins from ten games, as is the case with droylsden, they will be well pumped up for this one. We need to make sure everyone at our club is more pumped up and chomping at the bit to get that first win and hopefully kick on, get to moss lane on saturday if you can, and get behind the lads from the first whistle.
