I wonder if anyone in Macc then has seen the current issue of Private Eye then were their knights in shining armour-Cheshire East Council-have a prominent piece in the infamous 'Rotten Boroughs' column.  Macc's local authority decscribed as 'secretive and authoratarian' in addition to 'falsifying records and lying to the local government ombudsman' and suppressing critical reports.

Hope all the paperwork is in order then and no one asks any awkward questions. I'm sure it will all go swimmingly.... ;D

Is that relating to the Lyme Green debacle?

The council voted to start a £90m regeneration of the town centre yesterday.

A council vote means the square root of f**k all. And regeneration doesn't always mean that, especially when that regen is not being overseen by the council whilst considering . A private regeneration can lead to businesses moving out of the area due to a rise in costs. The town is then left with empty units and the town ends up looking even more run down and people seek alternatives.

Its all well and good throwing out numbers that the town will seek. But what about your club? £285,000 for your ground? Thats a small semi-detatched gaff round our way...

It was the final descision. the development is now green lighted. It's been rumbling on for a few years. This move is a good thing.

It's £285k for the freehold, linked in with the South Macc development. Basically an interest free loan in all but name.

So you put up (for the sake of argument) a mil? And you get £285k knocked off that but it still has to be paid back? That's still a mil output. If I had a 50 year rent I wouldn't be accepting that straight away. If it was a 5-10 year lease then of course I'd look at it... Smacks of someone grabbing for money because they know it'll go tits up on the shorter end of the spectrum...

Not at all. The freehold is essentially worthless with the long leases in place, and the covenant on the stadium. Atthe fans forum last night it was announced that the club could buy back the freehold at any poit after becoming a CIC, and that any future development of the Moss Roae site would be done by the club to fund the development of a new stadium.

You still need £100,000 sharpish to stay in business though, looks like your reverting to part time to me...

£100k in three months shouldn't be impossible. We've currently not got a shirt sponsor, back of the shirt or shorts (all sold last season) and the naming rights deals to what are currently known as The Henshaw's Stand and the Macclesfield Audi stand are all up for grabs too.

Throw in all the ad boards around the stadium and you're quite a long way down the road.

A single player shirt sponsorship at Oxford City would do it!

What? Selling sponsorships and ad boards that we sold last season as well?

The only difference is that we need to do it early summer.

You certainly do need to do it early summer, in fact you need to raise £50k before the end of July to avoid a winding up order! you're f**ked

Incredible you're £500,000 in debt despite having just been given £285,000 by the council and reaching the FA Cup 4th round last season. How much would you have been in debt in for God's sake?

Narrowly vying with Northwich Whatever FC for the title of north west non league weirdos.
