That all depends on whether the guesswork of the NLP is in the slightest bit accurate.

My source comes from within your own club. Askey is a great guy but is he the best guy to keep you in BSP? Time will tell.

Your source in the club doesn't seem to know much then.

“There have been some reports about our budget for next season. As a club we don’t like to put exact figures into the public domain, but the low budget suggested in the press at the weekend is inaccurate.

With respect that doesnt say anything except the usual banging of the drum for support, indeed it only confirms the situation that;

1. MTFC will now have to live within its means, which with your gates wont be a lot.
2. The long term tenure/stability has improved, not going bust as was very close,....providing you do get more income and dont spend more than you earn.
3. Just like other non league sides again then ehh.
4. When are you going part time then? already?

It's good news for MTFC potentially but can you really expect to get back into the FL anytime soon? More likely you will go the other way.

Not going part time yet. Certainly not next season.

This season will be the hardest one, but hopefully with the club now back as a community club, we'll see the gates rising again, and more local businesses getting involved.

If they weren't getting involved when you were playing Man City in league games they are hardly likely to do so now you're playing Welling United.

Macc town have to live within their means and they're not going part time next season?

I think transferring ownership to the 'community' is what clobbered dave pace and droylsden....seems hmrc consider vat is due on the proceeds....just saying like.

Anyway I hope Macc do start to live within their means and avoid the fates of Runcorn and northwich as we should be playing them regularly....preferably in games that confirm their relegation/going out of the FA cup.... ;D ;D

I wonder if anyone in Macc then has seen the current issue of Private Eye then were their knights in shining armour-Cheshire East Council-have a prominent piece in the infamous 'Rotten Boroughs' column.  Macc's local authority decscribed as 'secretive and authoratarian' in addition to 'falsifying records and lying to the local government ombudsman' and suppressing critical reports.

Hope all the paperwork is in order then and no one asks any awkward questions. I'm sure it will all go swimmingly.... ;D

That was 15 years ago nearly. And they did get involved then. It's more recently that the club has drifted away.

Is that relating to the Lyme Green debacle?

The council voted to start a £90m regeneration of the town centre yesterday.

A council vote means the square root of f**k all. And regeneration doesn't always mean that, especially when that regen is not being overseen by the council whilst considering . A private regeneration can lead to businesses moving out of the area due to a rise in costs. The town is then left with empty units and the town ends up looking even more run down and people seek alternatives.

Its all well and good throwing out numbers that the town will seek. But what about your club? £285,000 for your ground? Thats a small semi-detatched gaff round our way...
