Yes Dale changed the game but only because he came on. Its doubtful he would have had the same influence had he started the game.  The tactis by Kenny were spot on

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Long Term Altrincham FC Support
« on: December 02, 2010, 08:42:47 AM »
Most of these suggestions are good ideas though most have been raised countless times when we start to feel sorry for ourselves as a club although they have never been put into practice. This is because many proposals require the help of more than one person. Also the board need to put their support behind any proposal for it to work and be successful. A working party of some sort might be the answer but to have an effect in the outside world I think it would need to come from within the club under the club name rather than from TASC, perhaps a committee that sits under the board in the structure of the club. Its mission would be to raise the profile of the club within the local community and further afield, with volunteers from all appropriate backgrounds - marketing, community development, coaching, PR, business relations. Within our support base we will have people with a variety of skills that may want to help but dont know how to or who to approach.

Taking recent cup draws into mind this has to be a good draw for us. As someone who was at North Ferrby United though I hope we dont underestimate them - the money could certainly come in handy as could the momentum of the cup run.

Didnt Jordan Burke have an agent? Went to Skelmersdale United as they played better football, where are he and/or them now?

The previous incumbents name should not be mentioned again , whether deliberately or not, if his stewardship had continued we could have gone full circle and ended up where the jotney began. Ken McKenna may or may not be the answer but he deserves our full support after experiencing a baptism of fire.

Dave Lee Travis playing Macbeth is something I would love to see

That post is an absolute disgrace - How can you look forward to playing in the BSN? Football is all about ambition and playing at the highest level you can. We should be fighting to stay up not holding up our hands and accepting our fate because thats where you believe we should be. If you want to watch BSN football go and follow Heathcote and watch his new team.

Altrincham FC First Team / New Manager
« on: October 09, 2010, 05:42:02 PM »
I know that we have all seen some changes with the team in terms of motivation and passion and that he hasn't had the opportunity to bring new players in but does anyone think that a fresh face from outside the club in the managers chair would be a good idea?

Hear Hear! Whats taking the board so long, they need to make a decision and soon all this dragging of the feet is doing the club no good at all. It cant be difficult

Chairman: "Kenny we would like to offer you the job"
Kenny: "I would like to accept"
Chairman: "You will be paid xxx"
Kenny: "Thankyou thats great"

Regardless of how it turned out, and I agree it was for the best that he left, Heathcote kept us up 5 seasons in a row. I don't think it's far to complain about this season by harking back to errors Heathcote made. He got a lot right, including discovering and signing our better players such as Smith and Denham.

I think its absolutely right to talk about errors Heathcote made, yes he built up the club but he will also be remembered for undoing the club if the season ends badly.

« on: September 15, 2010, 11:09:51 AM »
I think your right, in the past Heathcote attacked any detractors, this time during games he just slumped against the dugout and then there was Black Thursday where he admitted That he was fallible something he would never have done in the past. Incidentally Black Thursday will live long in the memory along with the "your all f.....g Gobsh*tes" meeting at the start of the Heathcote era. I think there's a great symmetry there. You can say what you want about Graham Heathcote and I often have but you can't say his era wasn't a rollercoaster.
