Always look on the bright side of life - what bright side, Darren?  :D

I agree money needs to be spent on the ground, but we don't necessarily have to spend all of it on the ground do we? If there is money left after doing what needs doing I don't see a problem with spending a bit on the team, although obviously being wary of long big money contracts. Money on scouting and youth development might be an idea, isn't that how Dagenham got promoted?

I think the money should go to the ground whilst we have it. We dont know when the opportunity will come again to invest in our facilities. It could be years, and im not sure the bogs and floodlights could take it. Surely we can afford to bring in a few extra players next season without the payments to the taxman.

It would be absolute suicide if we operated at a loss cos we knew we had money in the bank. I think we've been there before and so have a fair few clubs.

I think we're only a couple of players off being able to establish ourselves above the scrap we're in now, that should be the target!

Besides imagine going to Moss Lane and all the bulbs worked, wierd and exciting!

Now that would be something new.

Developments i would like to see in the next 2-3 years  at the club are
Floodlights new toilet and catering facilitys at both end of the ground and also extending the bar and new club shop accessable from outside the ground.
Any other suggestions?

I know these are not top priorities by any means but I would like to see:

The away end of the ground extended all the way to the corner with a roof
Another small stand like the family stand on the other side of the main stand incorporating a new club shop and extension to existing bar
If we ever got enough money I would like to see the Golf Road End modernised with a new roof and steeper terracing
Similar to the last idea I would like the popular side to be modernised with a high roof at each end to match the middle and steeper terracing

Very desirable
I like the sound of that but doubt we have that money yet

5,000 seat stand stretching the length of the popular side, and a new roof on the golf road end.

the latter being the more realistic one! on a serious note the devolopments i would like to see at the club are a larger fan base, an even grater youth link both of which have been planted with the formation of altrincham fc juniors.

on a stadium front i would like to see the small hings done such as the floodlights, terracing holes fixed, obviously the toilets, keith daveys catering van accesable from the golf road end! and i noticed the other day we needed to do some major weeding!! lol

What about the main stand continued right round the pitch up to the Golf Road on both sides say an oval 8000 seats, then the Golf Road exstended back and made into a 3500 super terrace?

Pretty much agree with that - also reclad Golf Road and the older bits of the Popular Side which are falling apart.  The main thing for me though is enlarging the bar and club shop giving them a proper street entrance.

So what exactly do we need to do to bring the floodies up to scratch. I hear it was not just a matter of getting more lamps and more to do with the wiring etc? Can anybody get me the exact technical problems/requirements?

I can then make a few calls  ;)

The Football Foundation won't fund floodlight replacements, presumably cos their money is going towards the Olympics and cos floodlights aren't deemed necessary at football grounds anymore. That is the technical problem.

If you can make a few phone calls to the tune of £40,000 I wish you'd done it before now.  ;)
