We were playing with 9 men today...
« on: April 09, 2007, 07:09:45 PM »

Gary Talbot:

Great servant to the club....but this has to be his final season.
Immobile and left totally stranded for Gravesend's second goal this afternoon.
In fact, he was fortunate not to be sent off in the first half.

Andy Scott:

I'm sorry, but this guy is completely out of his depth at Conference level.
Who on earth decided that he would be worth signing?
Woeful.

Things could have been different if Warren Peyton had not wasted a great chance when it was still only 1-0....only for them to then go straight up the other end and score their second.

Not Scott's fault though, I am sure he was trying his best as were all the players. We had 5 players out today remember.

I would probably have started with Thornley - he can literally change the game with a moment of brilliance. We could have got something out of today with a little more luck (Peyton's chance) and the save from Little that on any other day would have fallen to Pat to stick in.

Keep the faith - we are still 4 points clear with games running out.

Andy Scott's history tells us this was possibly a panic buy. I wonder if the wrong central defender was let go when Mad Dog left????

And isn't it annoying when you put 3x? and get a ???

i agree with  A Scott i am normally right behind the players but i'm sorry he was absolutley woeful, he had a chance to clear for their first, left it to which the player said cheers beat him and slotted it past Acton, Talbot i might be right in saying he isnt 100% fit ? theres much better full backs in the unibond than him, sorry to say. maybe just maybe it was an off day for them both but if Scott aparantly played under par at St Albans im afraid to say i think he should be released and someone else looked at, I mean theres Salford, Trafford, Ashton who most probably have better full backs, i agree that maybe he was brought in under a panick.

I agree with the coments and I am sure both players were doing there best, I have never rated scott and he has cost us a number of points since he joined us.

If you look at the squad we are at the bare bones!! bThere is only Bowler who would be available! On the bench today we had 3 players not fully fit Coburn, Scotty and Aspinall.

Rose has also cost us for getting sent off!!

Hopefully back on Saturday, where the defence will have to be on there toes.

I hope we do not rue these silly points we have given away!

If there isn't a better left full back in the Unibond League than Andy Scott......then my name is Lutel James.
Embarrassing.

Also, what happened to Bushell today?
He just seemed to vanish in the second half.

Totaly agree. What makes it more frustrating is we had rod on the bench that could of played on the wing and lewis could of gone in centre.

It does puzzle me why Rod did not start this and other games.

If we get an hour that is better than an hour of A Scott?

I think there must be a reason why Thornley does not start, maybe GH is trying to keep things tight to start with? Okay I grant you playing A Scott is not really keeping it tight!

generally we knw he does not last 90 mins these days but an hour is surely worth it?

Scott has cost us in three of the games he has started!

lay off it NOW.

Andy Scott is an Alty player and we need every player in the squad to be at the top of his game NOW.  How the hell is he going to fell getting a kicking on this forum as we go into the last three games of the season.

Come on.

Loyalty is admirable.

Blind loyalty is worrying.

Right, we need to get a grip slightly, I'm not an A. Scott fan by any stretch of the imagination as anyone who watches games with me will tell you but it should be pointed out that he had an ok game v Exter (bearing in mind he's no Michel Platini) altho we got slightly overrun 2nd half, at St. Albans he had a good game, got about and used the ball well, his best game in an alty shirt. ven v g&n he got about and was not the worst Alty player on the pitch.

Slightly limited yes and I'd liked a better end of season signing but a few of you are getting into the mindset that he's poor and therefore he plays bad in every single game. The last three games he's been ok (ish).
