"the match with Welling ends in a draw, it will be replayed on Tuesday 23rd, causing the postponement of the Conference match away at Northwich Victoria scheduled for that day"

That will throw a few half days into disarray.

I tell you what, that would be quite funny, instead of a Vics all dayer we find ourselves as far away in the country as you can legally go without a passport in midweek.

We've got about 100 people who've booked of a half day, and loads would probably be unable to switc andin the end go to Welling, I would, wouldn't be able to go to Welling otherwise though in midweek.

We'll turn up at Park View Lane with (accounting for those that go anyway and all southern based Robins) about 150 fans for a Trophy (which has lost a bit of stature) game in midweek at the other end of the country.

Imagine all the Wellings fans faces!! Like, eh?? What's this?  :o :P

Sounds a little like me with your 5 a side team Rich!! :D :D minus the signing on fee -  >:(

I reckon someones bound to take advantage of the situation, i do agree about the south thing though, i reckon at this level relocation is a bigger deal to these players,as for wages surely they cant all be on big money, they only came up last season

my mate Rich whos a Morecambe fan will surely be on here so to confirm but apparently Lee Elam moved from Morecambe to Weymouth for an extra £50 (fifty :o) a month. ::)

He'll be be back watching Alty before you can say "Colin Peakes A W*nker"

Ahem, Gary

isn't ther a part of this we're trying to keep a lid on btw? Have you managed to speak to John Laidlar / Grahame Rowley yet?

« on: January 04, 2007, 07:17:25 PM »
A shame but unlike George Melling, Lee has some goals in him so may do enough to get noticed. My guess is that he will sign for Woodley Sports and get his name mentioned quite regularly when Jhn Ladilar does the ex player round ups.

Think he has ace which is his main asset but after a ankle injury, an those can really dog you believe me :P he hasn't got that sharpness back and the full time conference doesn't allow you to ease back into it. Funny really, I was just talking to Hughesy about this last night and bingo. He was good for 10 minutes at Cambridge though.

In fact, thats the thing for me, I think a good 2 or 3 games and goals in the conference against Cambridge, York, Burton etc will get the league clubs far more excitedb than 15 for Woodley or Bamber Bridge but there you go.  :P

Absolutely sh*te, a complete waste of time, an abject apology every time our shirt is worn.
No effort, no idea about the right lines, no real pace, a complete and utter embarrassment.
And none of them can bat properly either if Mahmoods a number 8 I'll...

...oh I see now. Sorry  ::)

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: 5 points over Xmas... Happy?
« on: January 01, 2007, 05:57:20 PM »
Nope not happy (enough). 2 homes v Bottom 8 sides and an away match v a bottom half side had to yield 6/7 points in our position, i.e. we're likely to struggle later in the season. Sorry but that's true, at least we didn't give 3 points away to anyone.

That said, I think you need to include the R&D game in the Xmas section. 8 points from the 4 games will leave me delighted, 6 will leave me ok but worried and 5 will not be good enough.

Bit harsh but without the abillity to win away from home these are the standards that we need to stay in this division. Where do the 3 away wins necessary come from?

They are very tempting indeed Jimmy given recent form from us.

Vics have a rather good away record I think and the ability to win games, Brayson ensures asteady supply of goals too. Having said that, they seem to be having a bit of a wobble formwise at the moment too (think they are missing Griffiths, Allan - a key player and Williams).
As Ecky said it's a close one to call and 15/8 is probably over priced. Would take a draw like a shot if it was offered

From their official site

Tamworth will play host to Altrincham on Tuesday 19th December 2006 in a FA Trophy replay at The Lamb, Tamworth. Vouchers for the FA Cup fixture will be issused at this fixture.

---

Basically for their next 2 home games, they are giving vouchers out for priority in buying Norwich tickets, i.e. If you go to both you're 1st in line and if you go to 1 then you're next in line after that.

Hopefully this will encourage the locals to turn up and bosst the attendance somewhat as we get halfthe gate receipts.

Otherwise there will be 600 there with Tamworth giving the gate as 463. >:(

Actually hopefully the glory hunting locals won't turn up as I expect they'll be mongs par excellence, surpassing even todays clowns ::)

Don't think they are flush with money so giving up the £24,000 they got for getting through the second round and the receipts of a home tie with Ipswich might be an issue, as it might be to Chester

I know some people have a view that Bowler hides a bit on the pitch (undecided, altho I think he's better on the right than the left) but I think it's unfair to point fingers at his performance today. We play with a stunning lack of width and even when we keep the ball we never get it out wide quick enough. Lewis and Robbie tuck in and it's always a belated ball to Scotty or Warren when it comes.

Bowler was sent on as an out and out winger to hug the touchline, which he did, twice in his first 5 mins there was the opportunity to get the ball out wide and it took an eternity, in fact it never came and the ball was played inside for Bush and Colin to mess about with, or pumped long for Col to win a flick on for Thompson  ???

I'd lay off JB todya, I think there will be plenty of opportunity to have a go but to single him out above todays collective dross (both sides minus Stuart Coburn and to a lesser extent Warren Payton) is too harsh.

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Accy Stanley
« on: December 16, 2006, 10:06:03 AM »
Erm, long story, possibly better explained by others (Ecky). I think it's related to the fact that Eric Whalley is a C**t. Something along the lines of tapping up Ian Craney and then telling our chairman 'I could buy your poxy little club' when we didn't accept a pitiful offer for him. Think this is why they declined to tell us about Robinsons registration palava but told Southport instead

I think we may have accused their fans of being arrogant and tinpot too, I don't really give too much of a toss, becuase quite frankly they're Accrington Stanley and they all live in Accrington and I mean, well, seriously eh? ::)
