My national position of 477th was not bad but not as good as my Metro team which came 20th.  Shows what can be done by watching Premiership games on Sky Sports news every week waiting for news of Alty, might do even better next year without southern Alty trips to go to :'( :'(

Maybe not as you'll only need to tune in at half time and full time for the Alty updates next year.  >:(

Last point as I'm whaffling on but we MUST attack teams next year not go one up and defend. I think Lewis may leave but if we keep everyone else plus two wingers and maybe a tall striker it will be happy days. Maybe we can persuade Senior.

Not sure Chris Senior is the tall striker we're looking for.  :D

Just a pity you can't bloody finish Ollie otherwise you and Col Little would make a great team  ;D

Spoke to G Rowley last week. Once membership is raitified at the AGM that's it. If Boston or whoever went bump after the AGM even 10 minutes after they stick with the lists, i.e. there would be 23 teams in the conf.

If I put fans in the game I think they'd notice if half the squad were fat, slow, played for free and all hated Ma** Town... :-)

Are you sure they'd notice the difference?  :D

The winner would be the one whose design closely matches the stock one Ian.  ;D

I know, I know.

Pete Hughes, flying winger nicknamed planu shins for his stellar goalscoring exploits.  8)

Huh :)

I think I remember something where there was a choice of 3 away strips and non playing members of the squad (no not Justin) modelled them before kick off and Mark Harris or Rafo or Ecky(??) waffled away on the mike. Anyway, people were in the bar and not paying attention or were numbed after anotherseason of Unibond nonsense. It may even have resulted in that orange farce.

Anyway, a better idea given our community based focus would be to open it up as a competition to local primary school pupils to design the kits, we (I would offer my time) could go into school with a video, pics of Wembley 78 and a bit of Alty bible bashing to get them into the swing of things, i.e point out the red and white stripe heritage. Kids love this sort of thing, the winner gets a free season ticket and his school get a  hundred free tickets to some home game or soemthing or get selected as featured school etc. I know FC United did this very successfully (whatever you may think about them they do use their pull and fan base brilliantly to do a lot of things that in all honesty it would be nice for us to emulate - Bhopal appeal, raising money for the lads wheelchair, big coats for the homeless day, kick racism out etc). Good idea I think.

That said, when I did my GSCE Technology in 95, my project was on football merchanide for a sports club (us). Now, I like to think I'm a solid Alty fan but by Goi if ever the Robins had turned out in the monstrosity that I created I think the club would've been shut down (thick wavy diagonal red and black stripes  :o)

Ring the club 0161 928 1045, they'll let you own a greater percentage of it for a small donation.

Lazy bastard  >:(

John Laidlars site has all the info on all the Alty players ever. p.s put Gareth Thomas, fat ball playing midfield wizard and Oliver Needham, tireless, skillful but not great at finishing apart from penalties striker in for a laugh would you and I'll buy it meself. ;)

Gus Uhlenbeek, exactly the type of over paid piss taking journeyman ex pro we don't want.

Greg Young, ditto to a lesser extent, regarded as old and slow.

Shane Smeltz overated and scored 1 goal in 31 conference appearances.

Stationary & Postage

A payment in the sum of £380.25 has been paid in respect of the above.

Arf!

Bizarre!
Begbies Taylor are still adminstering the cva for them aren't they?..so how are they not in administration?

Scarborough came out of administration and into a cva straightaway, it din't save them.

Along with a couple of others, no surprise when you need £11k to cover March and Aprils payment let alone the cva/

Jimmy, do the honours with the click on link thing will you.

Suppose Chris knew he'd be released and now has a decision to make, does he stay full time? There may not be a full time offer available to him. If he wants to stay in the conference then there are a number of part time clubs who would have him who are closer to his home, Droylsden for one, possibly Farsley Celtic for another, both would trump our wages for sure particularly Farsley who seem to have money to spend (Ryan Sugden, Craig Midgley, Carl Serrant). In the Conf North, the likes of Harrogate and Hyde might want him.

I see they've kept Steve Torpey though. ;)
