Title: Yeovil Match Thread
Post by: MarpleAlty on October 11, 2021, 12:08:36 PM
Same team unless Phil sees fit to rotate given the long midweek trip:

                    Thompson

Dens    Mullarkey    Hannigan    Senior

                 Moult     Pringle

    Mooney       Hancock        Kosylo

                      Dinanga

The scene of one of our more disappointing displays last season, but I think we played them when they were hitting good form.

Hoping for at least a draw this time round but the boys will know they're capable of winning.

COYR.

Colclough out.

Hanks up top, Kossy number 10 with Mooney and Jackson on the wings.

I’d be tempted to give A Jay or Tom a start. Dinanga looks short on confidence to me, I think it’s time to try something different. I know our goal record is hugely improved this season so far, but no reason to rest on our laurels.

Probably Peers or Hancock over AJ. Need someone to take the pressure off the defence and AJ you'd want to bring on later.

A win tonight will put us 5th in the league PP keeps saying we are punching above our weight well I'm all for that long may it continue.

Funny team Yeovil, have the ability to beat anybody on the day… Bit like Alty.

I would be happy with a draw tonight, but if we get after them I could see us getting another 3 points

Yeovil 1 - 2 Alty

Mooney & Dinanga..

Onwards and Upwards.

If we could get a win here and Eastleigh, then something against Solihull, even I would consider becoming a trainee glass-half-full kind of bloke.

PS. I'm still scarred by a prediction I made years ago in the run up to a home game vs Barrow. All on here seemed to be tentative but I predicted a win for us and said those famous words I've never repeated since. I said "I've never been so cock-sure about anything in my life!"
Obviously we were lucky to scrape a draw.

We’d better win since I’m making the effort to get there. 2 hours each way on a school night!  Second game of the season for and Wealdstone did not go well.

I assume we won’t be taking many tonight as even my trek looks like popping out for some milk compared to most.

A 421 mile round trip on a Tuesday evening is no small undertaking. I understand there's a 16 seater coach booked, and I heartily applaud those who will be aboard.

It won't be a great crowd anyway with England on the box, and Yeovil playing poorly (allegedly).

Let's hope you can allay fears that you may be a jinx then BathAlty! 😉
Hope it's a good game for all the intrepid Robins who are attending and we bring home the points!

Safe travels to all those attending.

Think team will be similar to Saturday with maybe Brad in for Dens. Other than that I'm not sure.

Hoping for a win or at least a point. COYR

With the possibility of being shown up I am casting all my reservations to the wind and I forecast that Alty will secure three points at Yeovil.

He'll have a great point to prove having previously played for them I should have thought.
Clever selection!

Apparently Connor Hampson is doing OK in goal, and it's 0-0 HT.

Don't know how bad the injuries are, but we need to consider recalling Gould and Sutton from their loans.

Hampson had nothing to do so far. He’s punched one corner narrowly over the bar

And put Ian Senior on emergency standby...?

Drench could find himself back in the starting XI at this rate.

I think Stevie Drench is registered as a player. It’s a bloody shame that this has happened tonight.

Centre mid in central defence, right winger at right back, right back at left back and left back in goal....WOW!

What fight our team has!

What a fantastic result to get a draw away at Yeovil, after two injuries early on.
Well done to all the lads and staff.
Bloody excellent effort
Proud to be an Alty fan

Brilliant result!
This team never knows when it's beaten!
Would have been happy with a draw before kick off but half an hour later, feared the worst.
Should have had more faith!
Well done boys you've done us all proud.
Big shout out to the people who travelled down there. They must be happy coming home!
Well done to all!
Up the Robins! 👏👏👏👏

Pretty much what Saughall  said.
Well done to everybody who made their way down there. I would have taken a draw before the match, and would definitely have taken one after 25 minutes or so!  Even in the most difficult circumstances, this team never knows when it's beaten.

Tremendous effort on the pitch and well done to all who attended.

A point gained on a  200+ miles away on a Tuesday night with tonights' setbacks is remarkable.

A big point after a huge journey and unfortunate injuries.

Top effort by the fans who made the journey.

Well done all.

Outstanding performance in the circumstances TT may struggle to get his place back after Conner Hampson heroics ;D this team just don't know when they are beaten well done all so proud of you all why are Yeovil convinced we are now full time? a break from the league this weekend as we visit Southport hopefully a big Alty following i would feel disappointed if there are not 350+ at Southport.

Echo the sentiments of everyone else. Respect to those who travelled and to the lads who are obviously giving everything they have for the team.

Hopefully, the injuries are not too bad and Ryan will be back for Saturday. We may need to recall loanees.

We were much better than them. With TT in goal we’d have won comfortably. They are terrible. Spoke to a few grumpy Yeovil fans on the way to the car. Very unhappy with their team and manager.

Very odd feeling to be leased with a draw when we were the better team but makeshift defiance and ref giving utterly random decisions meant we were all really nervous something stupid would happen.

Wouldn’t expect to see Mooney at the weekend. Rubbing his hamstring straight after our third sub and on one leg by the end

Hancock and AJ were anonymous tonight. Everything came down the wings. Having been at Wealdstone and Yeovil I’d get dinanga back in. Also disappointed with Pringle after rave reviews on here. Looked pretty poor tonight.

But they ran their arses off tonight in very difficult circumstances and deserve great credit for grinding out a result. Hanigan and mould at the back were great dealing with endless long balls to big forwards. Jackson and Mooney were the pick going forwards

Listened on RR, so can only go off the commentary, but credit to all that attended, plus to get a point away against FT opposition with a makeshift defence and an outfield player in goal was outstanding.

AJ first start and to grab a goal is good news and will boost his confidence. Hopefully TT and Toby not seriously injured. Worrying to here about Dan being possibly injured. Probably good no league game till a week on Saturday.

Mind Switches to FA Cup now, hopefully be there on Saturday to cheer the lads on...

Not sure it was that biased. It did feel they had most of the chances. Mainly created by long balls and stupid free kick decisions from the clueless man with the whistle

Disappointed by the goal. Even Thompson spilling a ball we shouldn't have two men free following in.

More promising our heads didn't drop and we had the ball out the net before they'd started celebrating ready to go. A special spirit seems to be growing; remiscient of playoff winners.

On a 2nd positive note, AJ positioning was great for goal. Ready to react. Can't wait to see more of him hopefully on Saturday.
