Won 2-1, phew!!!!

Job done. Thank god that tie is finally behind us!
Much needed reinforcements available for Tuesday, let's get that game won as well!
-
Made hard work of that, another long away trip on a Tuesday night .
-
It was never going to be easy. For all we've bottled it away from home at sides leagues below in recent years, it's great to see us grind out a result in a similar situation. Tailor the suits.

The redcoats? :)
-
When do they do the draw for the next round? Winner of BPA and Nantwich please :)
-
Well, we got away with that. Saying that with the early pen it logically speaking had to be a red card as their defender who fouled Rankine was the last man. If they go down to 10 that early then it's a different game. Nice to be confident about us taking pens these days though for a change. Rankine sent their eccentric GK the wrong way. However, increasingly as the half wore on and then into the Second half Lem took control and must have slung about 30 odd crosses into our box, looked like we'd just about got away with it but it had been coming for about 30 minutes. Deasy had made a number of good saves too.
ET they had the momentum but Rankine scored a cracker, powerful shot that dipped underneath the bar, though arguably their keeper who fancied himself as an outfield player was too far off his line.
Whilst they undoubtedly would have raised their game it was far from a vintage display. Frankly, thank god it's all over. I hope we don't have to go back anytime soon. The pitch in the corners was a sandpit and bumpy but playable. The two new lads at Bognor on Tuesday should hopefully give us a spark.

Oh we were poor today. Created little, lost nearly every 50 50 ball and defended deeper and deeper second half. When we did go fireard with purpose you could see how poor Leamington were. Well, a training match won and 4 grand banked
Thought Reevesie looked lively when he came on.

Bill,
£5k to be banked in due course, actually!
Thanks for your match updates this afternoon.
Listening to the second half on Radio Robins was a truly excruciating experience and that was the world's most predictable equaliser.
We'll look back and laugh about this entire farcical Leamington saga when Lee Sinnott leads the team out at Wembley in May.
Would Len Rosenfield still offer us a discount on new suits for the occasion?

Relieved to have won the tie, Tim deasey single handedly kept us in the FA Trophy. We are far far better than that today, I can only assume it was lack of options on the bench as to why we were so cautious. We staked our intention when Crowther came off for Heathcote. I don't like this sitting back and inviting teams on because every team will also get a chance at one nil, and they were decent at putting a ball in. Had we shown proper attacking intent as mentioned above you could see they, for all the bluster, silly goalkeeping and long passing etc are a poor side. Going to be tough going to Bognor in 48 hours after 120, so glad we have some reinforcements to bring in. Will have to be better on Tuesday for what will probably be a touched assignment. Delighted to progress, that was very very cold.
-
Poor game, but we got through. Sometimes thats all you can do. Well done lads. Expect more of the same at Bognor
-
I don't know what their keeper thought he was doing, chasing Lawrie out of the area and scything him down from behind. I can only think he knew he had made a mistake and was intent on stopping Lawrie from turning and having a free shot at an empty net.
Could have been another red.

should have been a red
Their keeper a big player for them, I can sort of see how it might work in the southern league. But against conf opposition just get the basics right

Excellent un biased highlights, superb second goal by Ranks. Get in.
-
Highlights are amazing
-
Fair play a good effort.
As Ham has said, we're through and that's all that really counts.
-
Wow, they had 2 tremendous chances to nick that in normal time. Quite a fluff for the first one, great effort by Deasy for the second.
-
Great highlights for a club at that level. Impressed.
Confirms yesterday's posts that we got away with it and Deasy made some top saves. From the highlights the shove on the back of Rankine is even more blatant than watching live. No idea how that wasn't given as a red card. Would have been a much more comfortable afternoon if so.
-
Did notice that the Heathcoats have opened a fish bar in Leamington!!!
You can see their advert behind the far left hand side corner flag .
-
I'm presuming from the link left in the video's description that the highlights are done in association with Warwick University. Really good quality. Superb winner for us but yep we got away with that.
-
"Possibly the sixth biggest side in Greater Manchester." 8)

Agreed in every respect - the commentator sometimes had trouble identifying players but otherwise the whole package was excellent.
By the way - Heathcote is a nearby area; they have their own hospital, so Grahame & Sam know where to go for preferential treatment ...
-
Lovely pass from Lawrie to Rankine leading up to the penalty BTW.
And from Sam Heathcote to Rankine for the winner

Excellent highlights, though the commentator seems to have gone to the Tony Blackburn school of commentary with his over-use of the word "Sensational!"
-
Noticed they had Heathcotes chippy to
-
I can't help thinking that when it gets scrappy we do miss Tom Marshall screaming instructions at everybody.
The winning goal was excellent but we were lucky to survive that.
