Actually it wasn't a bad game at all although I may be biased as I'm (A) A supporter of Womens Football and (B) I've very recently refereed the Everton Ladies.

The venue was somewhat unpalatable but at least the womens game does move matches out of London.

I fear that there will be a lot of people who wont have given it a chance because it's women, wrongly in my opinion but I don't expect any support here

Totally agree with this point. Given the success of playing England senior games away from Wembley during it's reconstruction it would be a great shame if they never took them "on the road" again at some point. The novelty of the new Wembley will wear off at some point and the attendances will inevitably suffer for it, especially with some tickets costing up to £60.

Did they swap shirts at the end of the game?

Don't want to fall out with anybody but this is a sadly predictable response which is grossly disrespectful to the fastest growing and most dynamic sector of Football.

I know that this sounds like me getting on my high horse again and demonstrating a monumental lack of sense of humour (allegedly) but it does annoy me, particularly when a lot of the people who diss womens footy have made no attempt to engage with it

Actually I worked with Terry Smith at Chester City to try to get a women's team going there, but he "left" before it got off the ground.

In which case I apologise.

I didn't watch it but did they have proper nets and stuff?

Did they pick teams at the start or was it "ladies from playgroup" stick?

I believe they used handbags for goalposts and a special lightweight ball. ;D
