I couldn't make the match (it is so bad being at home when Alty play) but, and as a measure of how far we have come, I got the commentary on Radio Derby. Normally these are hopelessly biased but these two guys were OK. They made some interesting comments.
They said that we were a really good solid unit who shouldn't be in the bottom four, and that our defence was rock solid.
They also said that we won every 50/50 ball in the middle, and wouldn't give Burton a kick at times.
They said that Burton always score in the last few minutes, and they nearly did as you know, but said that may have been unfair on us.
It was nice to hear some compliments from another point of view.
From speaking to people who were there it seems we didn't create much but my view is that when we play a team much better than us either we can hold out well or go for them , we can't do both.
Yes we need to win home games, but I dn't mind admitting I expected us to get beat by in form pacey Burton last night, so I am delighted.
Right, I'm off to drink soup through a straw.

Great to hear some proper unbiased commentators are still about and their comments are spot on.

Ecky,
Missing an Alty game because of toothache?
Are you Peter Thomson in disguise?
-
Ironic he should see the Rushden game, which was like pulling teeth, and then miss a decent result!
-
I blame all those chocolate fountains for his tooth decay problems.
-
Toothache? Do you think i wouldn't watch Alty for a toothache?
I was still half sedated from the operation and in a codeine haze feeling like I had been hit with a baseball bat.

Not disimiliar to watching the game last night after all then!
