robines1978 - you just beat me to it!

Either way it is not possible to sustain a BSP club on gates of 291.

AP Leamington in 1979/1980 may have had some poor gates too.

Tuesday, 16 March 2010
Blue Square Premier
Chester v Eastbourne Boro, 19:45

If Jester survive that long & the fans boycott takes hold the above fixture could well challenge the 291 figure.

Pretty sure Leigh had crowds of 201 in their relegation season.

Lewes lowest crowd was the 337 against us!!

You could have point here York Alty. Can't see many Eastbourne fans making the trip to this one after what happened in original game.

Didn't  Farsley have a gate below 200 for a night game against a Southern club late in their relegation throes ? May have been Grays ?

11 Kettering fans at Gateshead

That's so poor, I'd have expected they could muster at leat half a dozen expats from the local Unis.......hmm, Kettering, perhaps not.

I'm sure Leigh's 201....regular as it was.....was "bettered" by Fisher when in the Conference, I'm sure they had some sub 200 gates.

I'm farly sure, 86-87, Alty had some shocking gates in the 3-400's. I'd moved to London just then and wasn't in touch. Why was that, we weren't that bad, was it a knock on from the decline in crowds sub Heysall/Hillsborough or was there some local issue?

I think Redditch United had a gate of circa 150 for a home game during the 1979/80 Alliance Premier League season.

Will need to venture into the archives to corroborate that.

Very amused at "bigtime" Kettering's away following last night!

What about the crowd at Macc v Morecambe last night: 1,046 seems very low when you consider that Morecambe used to travel quite well.

Our last 5 home games for the 88-89 season were:

Sutton 332
Boston 343
Fisher 337
Welling 480
Yeovil 569

Actually our last home game for that season was against Cheltenham - I don't know the gate for that one.

We had crowds of over 1000 for the visits of Chorley (1514), Vics (1438), Enfield (1007), Newport (1359 but game expunged), Kidd (1194), Wycombe (1229), Maidstone (1017)Macc (2139), Kettering (1106) and then gates fell off a cliff!

No idea why - I was in my seven season break around buying house with girlfriend (in Kent), getting married, moving to France, starting a family...the nearest I got to a game was our 2-7 defeat at Maidstone that same season

I am proud to be one of the 332 in Altys lowest ever league gate.

And I even invaded the pitch when Ronnie Ellis scored in the 88th minute, well I danced around the corner flag.  Sorry Darren.

Me too. Just dug out my programme for that game (it was the season of the weird Roy of the Rovers-style programme covers) and Sutton's no.7 that day was Efan Ekoku. And our no.7 was some person called Bill Parry (who he?). Oh and the referee was Jeff Winter.
