Gone down like a lead balloon with York fans on Twitter. Clearly a falling out between Askey & the Chairman, assuming about money as it normally is. York could get sucked into the relegation more easily now.

Wouldn't be ideal for us to lose a Yorkshire side

Glad you clarified, HT, I agree. Would be more preferable to lose some of the longer trips.
Having said that, I do fear for Oldham unless they get a manager who knows what's needed in this league and who they give quite a bit of lolly to spend.

Seems like the York fans seem to think ex united and York player (and allegedly chairman's mate) Jonathan Greening is the unofficial favourite to replace him?

I see Mike Williamson is in the running - logical choice seeing as it's one of his more local clubs and he's done a decent job with Gateshead by all accounts.

As for Askey - well, I suppose he'd be our most obvious choice in the shorter term if, for whatever reason, we found ourselves in the market for a manager (God forbid that be the case for now).

Have Macc properly replace Whittaker yet? That would seem to be an obvious job for Askey. And would you really want him at Altrincham?

Replaced him with the fella that had walked away from Warrington Rylands not long previous
