Brilliant brilliant season where we surpassed expectations. In the end we were beaten by 10 minutes of route 1 power on a dodgy surface. Our football would have graced L2 but that's life.

Proud of the team and the season we’ve had.  Should not be forgotten.  Talk about a game of 2 halves.  We were comfortably the better team first half and they obviously got a rocket at HT and we were just second best after that.  Onwards to next season.  Can we keep CCC and this team together?  That is the question.   All in all, a great season.

Time will tell if CCC will stay maybe he will, same with the others who have efl interest /quality .2 or 3 quality additions and we can do even better next season

Bromley have the big game experience  and hopefully we will gain from this but in  the very big games in  recent years ie portsmouth in the cup  , halifax in the trophy semi  and today we have fallen short .

The loss of Marriott told in the end. Recruiting quality that can fight for those places where we don’t have cover and potentially take those places will be crucial. As well as keeping the clear first XI

But we are a playoff club now. No-one to fear in the league next year. If we can keep the team together they’ve shown anything is possible. And they are a young team. The glass may not be overflowing but it’s way more than half full!

Putting todays disappointment aside , huge congratulations and thanks to all at OUR great club for a fantastic season , we have grown so much since Phil and Neil arrived to where we now find ourselves . So proud to support the famous Alty FC for the last 56 years and onwards through great triumphs ,  heatbreaking disappointments , total elation and sheer agony  , it's a labour of love and would not have missed it all for anything. Roll on August .

Nothing to add really, just that our achilles heel coming out for the second half came back with a vengance and brutal teams like Bromley punish you for it.

The lads have done us all proud this season - only our second as a full-time professional club, and I'm sure we'll re-invest and consolidate our position next year.

Forza Alty.

After an encouraging opening 45 minutes, our hopes effectively evaporated in that sorrowful nine-minute implosion early in that second half.

Alas, some woeful defending at a couple of set pieces completely changed the complexion of the game and allowed Bromley to gain momentum (mind you, that heinous pitch should be credited with an assist for that second goal).

The excellent third goal was a killer, and although we did clip their crossbar from a couple of free kicks, you couldn't really envisage a way back for us.

Disappointed, naturally, but not entirely surprised by that outcome. Bromley outmuscle you, It's just what they do to great effect.

Nonetheless, it's been a superb and entertaining season during which we have exceeded most people's expectations.

I think that the key objective on the playing front now is to increase the depth of talent within the squad. I didn't really feel that our bench today contained anyone who could turn the tide back in our favour.

The club has achieved gargantuan progress in recent seasons, both on and off the pitch, and we can only hope that things continue to move in the right direction.

Splendid support and noise from the Alty supporters this afternoon, too.

Three reasons why I now hope that Bromley go on to defeat Solihull in next Sunday's Play-Off Final:

(i) it would mean at least one less expedition down to the south east next season;

(ii) we can actually manage to win football matches against Solihull;

(iii) we won't have to play on Bromley's godawful artificial pitch again. (In fact, if they do achieve promotion and then have to dig up the wretched thing, I may even volunteer to take a spade down to Kent and help them out).

I blame Trafford Council for sending a good luck message.

We'll do it next year.
First play offs in the North we lost at Chorley. The following year we won them.
We'll do the same next year.
Come on you Supers we'll always love you!

Spot on. I don’t think we’ve quite got the nous as a Conference play off side just yet. Bromley on their pitch was always going to be a tall order-they are a horrible side to play against. Getting them & Boreham Wood out of the division Id be pleased with.

We have a strong spine of the team & all relatively young so well placed for next season. I don’t think we need a whole lot in. A fit Crankshaw, the chance to play Marriot & Wilson together intrigues & some back up for Linney who I’m sure will score more next year. I’d also like to hear what the Boards current off the field thinking is (ground, pitch, etc). Next season we need to push on again to become one of those sides who are always there or thereabouts.

Some brilliant posts there. My Stockport-supporting cousin messaged me saying that he was glad we didn't get promoted as we wouldn't be ready for L2 yet and I think he's probably right. I've watched quite a lot of L2 football this season and I think whoever goes up will really struggle.

A lot of excellent posts on here, and I can't disagree with any of them.
One of the characteristics of Phil Parkinson's and Neil Tolson's tenure is that they seem to learn as they go on. That's not a bad thing - quite the contrary - and while we may occasionally take a step back, that is usually followed by three steps forward, so I can't see us following Boreham Wood or Dartford who were in the playoffs in 2023 then relegated in 2o24.

Phil and Neil will now have more idea of wbat is needed, or what nous if you like, to achieve success in the playoffs, and I am sure that will be addressed.

It has been a great season and we have been competing at the highest level we have for nearly thirty years.
