Well I don't think being so churlish did Altrincham FC any favours either. I'm sure if asked twelve people could well have put their hands in their pockets and paid a fiver each to be able to listen to the game.

No one was asked to contribute, therefore so far you are the only person to have disagreed with me. So that's 1-1 on the agree/disagree front.

Perhaps considering RR and Alty TV have asked for so many donations (and fairly so) over the last month or two, and bearing in mind they normally miss one or two of the more southerly games anyway, and the fact that it is a matter of principle, they decided not to overburden the fans?

I wouldn't blame Radio Robins for the fact that you wouldn't go to the game.

Can't help thinking that this is just an attention seeking posting for the sake of some controversy.  Wasn't there a BBC radio commentary available online?  If there is £60 floating around, get it into Alty TV on the media side not into Borehamwood pocket.  Glad we stood up to it with the likes of Wrexham.

First away win today and a clean sheet. Focus on that.

Sounds like moaning for moanings sake.

Radio Robins threw the rattle over £60?

To a degree yes, but the main issue was the principle of this.

Radio Robins has been in operation since March 2011 & has covered every competitive game involving Altrincham since then, which probably numbers about 250 in total. We have never been asked to pay a fee before & whilst the £60 was an issue, it was the principle of being asked to pay a fee that was the prime decision making criterion.

How much are they charging to broadcast? Sounds like Altrincham FC is missing out on a potentially lucrative income stream. Might pay for a new midfielder.

£60

MUPPETS and by the by, 3 counties radio commentary is very poor (and VERY quiet) by comparison

Thanks UG....I can see you now pacing around Wexford Towers pointing at your laptop &  singing "Did you practice that all week"? ;D ;D ;D

It's possible that may have been the case, if we had asked, but we wish for all funds raised for Radio Robins to go to one of the following, rather than Borehamwood FC:-

1) Radio Robins...for new equipment. We are currently planning to buy new microphones in the not too distant future.
2) Alty TV...Radio Robins has already donated £90 to the Alty TV crowdfunding appeal & plans to support Alty TV on an ongoing basis, as the costs of running Alty TV are higher than those to operate Radio Robins.
3) Altrincham Football Club.

For information, this was Wrexham's stance on the matter when they visited last week....thanks to Pete Hughes for this:-

I'm sure its more technical than this but maybe RR should have just brought a microphone on to the terraces. 60 match summarisers all with an opinion would have been gold.

Ecky be as rude as you like. You have a habit of countering views you don't agree with by claiming them as attention seeking. It's a discussion forum. You aren't going to agree with every view put forward. I'm entitled to an opinion just as much as you are.
