Are there many Alty fans living in the Midlands ??

Random I know but after the thread of where you are from I was wondering are there many of us in the 'middle' ? I know the 'Southern' section is well supported but how about the 'inbetweeners?'

I tried it in the early 70's when I was first married to Joe's Mum. Just about got used to the beer, the awful chips ("We don't have meat and potato pies, but we've got chicken and mushroom"), and crossing Birmingham twice a day on the Aston Expressway (which definitely contravened the Trades Descriptions Act), when she got homesick. "Either we move home, or I'm going anyway" was the gist of the ultimatum. I'd been watching Villa in the third tier, and came home halfway through their promotion campaign (bummer, because they were a great side to watch back then). Within a year Joe arrived - the rest is history........

Well, there's me and my dad in Nottingham - I'm soon to be moving to Northampton, is that still the middle because Rosie said I could join London Alty when I move...I'm not very good at geography...

Yep, Stoke is the last big place in the Midlands. Crewe is Northern, being in the fine county of Cheshire and all...

Glossop is officially in the east midlands. I think we're about as far up as it goes.

I can't abide these sh*tty 'official' definitions. Officially, Wigan is in Greater Manchester and St. Helens in Merseyside. What a load of sh*te.

All of Cheshire is Northern, everything directly below it is not. Furthermore, Derbyshire is split. Glossop is quite clearly Northern, but I'm not having Derby, which is obviouisly the Midlands.

I've also noticed people lumping Lincolnshire into the East Midlands. What a pile of crap. If anyone seriously believes Grimsby isn't Northern they should be shot*. Everything below Lincolnshire, however, is not Northern.

* May have gone OTT there - politely informed of their mistake might be more appropriate  ;D
