HOME (Charlton)
-
Cheered just to see us drawn at home - cheered even more for Charlton. Huge game if we can get past Gateshead.
-
Home?? Can that be right?

It's tasty and could appeal to the telly.

No. It’s a hoax.

Friday night , moss lane rocking 😎
-
Got to be delighted with that, nailed on TV game and all the dosh that comes with that and sell out crowd. A week Tuesday is even bigger now.
-
Competition for the traditional non league at home to league team slot is Buxton vs morcambe , Yeovil vs McDonald’s or Stevenage and our tie
The replay might count against us as I’m not sure the Gatesheadground has the cup atmosphere they would want and they will need to pick the game before the replay I guess. If it was definitely at ours I think we’d be a shoe in
-
MK Dons has been auto corrected in the above post!
-
Can't go if it's Friday or Monday night but yeah it looks enticing.
-
Bloody brilliant draw at every level.
-
Just need to avoid the Sunday for me!

Charlton's 4-0 against Havant and Waterlooville flattered them a bit. Took 72 minutes to score the first goal. Second was a soft penalty. Third and fourth came in the last few minutes when H&W were spent. They're not exactly flying in the league... I'd say there's a chance - if we get past Gateshead ::)

Charlton Athletic were once managed by Phil Parkinson (the other one), have had 4 spells in the top tier of English football (once runners-up) and won the FA Cup 6 months before I was born 😂
At this level, they're a biggish club, and should bring a decent following if we get through the replay (for which we should have a stronger team).

BUT WE HAVE TO BEAT GATESHEAD FIRST!

We do but the fun of being in the hat is to get prematurely excited (sorry!)

Me too LOL

Meanwhile, over on the Charlton forum, first reaction was, 'Oh FFS' ;D
Lots of them seem convinced it'll be a telly game.

Try thinking about Nicola Sturgeon. That's surely help matters.

My thoughts exactly. They have the same incentive. Underestimate the Heed at our peril…

I feel sick now!

Huh!
"Am actually surprised that its Altrincham in the Conference and Gateshead in the Conference North
Thought it was the other way around"

Totally. Potentially a massive reward for the winners. Gateshead were within an ace of beating us, they'll have all the motivation required at Moss Lane.

Any word on tickets for next week's replay?
-
let me clear up the draw, first of all in Gateshead win the replay then they are at home to Charlton,if we win the game then we are Away at Charlton. :P :P
-
I think that it's important to realise that Gateshead play less than half their games on grass!
-
Charlton took 1300 fans to Lincoln on Sat 15/10. The overall attendance was 9100. They seemed pleased with the number who travelled to that game and I don't think that they are likely to bring many more to us (if indeed we do play them).
They only had 3864 for their home 1st Rd tie with Havant.
-
Agree with that. The Chequers end plus a small number of seats gives them just over 1000 tickets-plus it’ll be on TV so could be a silly KO time so they’ll be fine with that. Recall seeing them play City at the Etihad on the opening day about 15 years ago and they only brought about 800, don’t think they have a historically large away support.
More of a concern (IF we get through a hard replay) is number of tickets for home support. We had 3700 in on a Tuesday night for Solihull and the home parts of the ground felt very full. Demand sure to be high. Still that’s a nice headache to put off until after next Tuesday.
EDIT-For the Charlton lurkers I meant Fulham not Charlton at the Etihad. It’s easily done confusing the smaller sides from London lads. ;D

'Sarf London' Alty has a certain ring to it.
