This is how it should be done , and skem and Fylde are no where near Eccles, get a neutral venue and get the game played

How about AP Leamington move it to St Andrews?

A friend of mine regularly speaks to Skem's groundsman. Apparently a great deal of pressure has been put on Skem to get this game played and they were not a bit keen to play it in Salford. Why the same pressure has not been put on Leamington I don't know - maybe they are optimistic about tomorrow?

BBC Weather forecast for Leamington currently says light rain from 1800 today thru 0900 tomorrow (heavy mid-evening), then again 1100-1300 tomorrow. Don't see any reason to be optimistic!

Can guarantee it will be off again tomorrow. Nothing surer.

And Saturday too.

After that, it's in the lap of the Gods. Or we get the move which should have happened last week

Might do us a favour if it's held over until next Tuesday, at least it gives us a week to arrange a journey to Bognor should we proceed

Both games have duly started - Fylde one up v Skem, W-s-M two up v Wealdstone - so we may well be the only one not resolved by Saturday.

Whilst I would rate this as the biggest postponement saga that I can remember, it' wouldn't be the first time that we have played a replay on the day that the following round was scheduled.

Here are three occasions that I can remember this happening....there may be more:-

FA Trophy Rnd Qualifying Round 1974/5

2QR3   Runcorn       2   0

FA Cup 2nd Round 1981/2: York City

2R   York City   H   4   3   3088   Goulding,Rogers,Whitbread(2)

FA Trophy 1st Round: Tamworth

FAT1R   13.1.07   3pm   A   Tamworth   1-2   Little 48   520

Interesting that two of the three were at this time of year (York was played 2.1.82). The Runcorn Trophy game was delayed not merely by going to three replays but also by our involvement in the FA Cup 1st Round (23 & 25.11.74)

I am fairly sure that this is the longest drawn out affair, time wise, with 5 weeks between the 1st & 2nd Rounds this season.
