part time vs full time
« on: August 10, 2014, 10:06:57 PM »

I was wondering if any of the more learned fans on here know how many  teams in this league are part time as we are?

I am guessing it's a small amount maybe 2 more ??

If so who are they ?

Thanks

I can't list them but the Conference program on BT sport said there were:

12 true full time

8 part time on 2 nights a week

4 a mix of the two, probably 3 mornings a week.

As for who they are or how accurate that is I am not sure.

If that's true then there's no reason we can't aspire to finish at least in the mid-teens in the league this year.
If we can stick it out a year or two, I wouldn't be surprised to see the number of truly PT sides increase as the over-spenders hit the buffers and others start to cut their cloth.
That would be a real step forward for the league in general and do a lot to eliminate the AGM fiascos every year or two.

Before the season started I'd have taken one goal above relegation zone and that hasn't changed. For me this season is about consolidation.

Agree we need to consolidate.

I really dont expect mid table, but I do expect to stay up and we MUST stay up.

Due to an increase in turnover, I would hope that this would provide us with a greater net profit to be able to invest further on the field and indeed have a little to invest in the ground as well (a roof over The chequers End, made from scrap and twisted metal supplied by J Davidson's?).

I think the terrace of the Chequers needs re-concreting (I'm sure there's a better term for that) before a roof is applied. Its fallen into a pretty poor state.

Now the flats are built I expect planning permission would be a difficult hurdle for a Chequers roof.
