Remember we are paying for the injured players and all the new ones that have come in. The budget HAD to be increased for that.

Couldn't the injured be put on Furlough, or flexible furlough if they are required to come in for treatment?

No, because they are not off work due to lockdown, but because of an aspect of being a footballer.

If you work in a supermarket and became ill during the lockdown, they could not put you on furlough.

If we had a crowd I would hope we'd be able to have a new song...

"Old McDonald has a goal, E I E I O!"

I've never been more glad not to be at the games.

Wasn't he the Liverpool player who bet the cote he'd miss the penalty and paid up after the game or is my memory playing tricks?

I think it was Ray Kennedy...or Alan Kennedy.

Can I just mention to you all, thank you so much for your contributions to our zoom chat yesterday. It was highly enjoyable for all involved. I would also like to publicly thank Lawrence Looney for his contributions and explaining what the board do and how much commitment everybody willingly gives. It does show us how much they care for the club, and in particular how much time they put into the running of Altrincham FC.

This was also a record for us in that there were seven of us altogether in the chat, and the zoom meeting was the longest yet, at 1 hour 25 minutes. I even willingly missed some of the England game. This was no bad thing as they were 2-0 down when I started watching.

Thanks once again, and if anybody further wishes to join our zoom team then just send me a PM with your mobile number included.

Seconded. I find the chats most insightful, not least the perspective Lawrence  brings, and it is lovely to speak face to face with forum and exiled friends.

I thank you, Steve, for starting this up.

I don't think the trust is with the board, it's with the management and that trust the board has in it.

Phill track record with transfers has been pretty damp and right now that's what we need.

The manager has come out on a podcast and said we can't go and make big marquee signings a few days after Bill has said the budgets been upped and the money is there.

Remember we are paying for the injured players and all the new ones that have come in. The budget HAD to be increased for that.

Before the season started, I had a number of clubs in mind that we would need to overcome if we were to stay up, as those clubs were the ones I considered to be relegation possibles. We beat Dover, but we've lost to both Wealdstone and Aldershot already, and only drawn with Weymouth.

The other clubs were Kings Lynn, Maidenhead, and Chesterfield. Guess who's coming to dinner on Tuesday ?

Spencer Tracy?

The loss of his sidekick, Jordan Hulme has not helped. The real reason is that we have yet to replace him. Suggest we give Jamie McDonald a decent go from the start, and maybe use Adarabioyo as an impact sub. We have to give all the new players time to gel. you cannot judge any new ones coming on for the last 15 mins.

Get our injury problems out of the way. We are too good a side to not improve, but we need to find the right type of player as soon as we can. He may be already with us, but we will come good. We need to find another Jordan Hulme sooner rather than later. The team has had too much disruption due to injuries and it will take time. Josh Hancock will be fine, as I say we are too good a side.

This!

I thought all our newbies did a decent job yesterday.

Peers was our best player against Solihull and he had a decent game yesterday - if you want to judge performance purely by "if you miss a good chance you were dreadful" then by all means you do that but I barely remember him losing the ball at all yesterday and he was our best player aerially which was important considering how many times we went long.  I understand that people on here will never get rid of their anti-Peers agenda but please try to stop blaming him every time we lose.

Also don't understand the criticism of Moult, he hasn't done anything amazing yet but I wouldn't say he's played poorly?

Indeed.

i will admit I am not peers' greatest fan as a front line forward, but he does getr important goals and has impressed very much this last week
