It has been mentioned on the Kiddy forum that Steve Burr was at the game today.

In all seriousness I'm amazed Burr wasn't applying last time and if he did why he didn't get it over Young?

He's exactly what we need right now.

I hope he saw something in the team to make him interested.

I would like to think he did see something, if nothing else I reckon he would see it as a challenge and as Altrincham is still a big name in the non league footballing world I would also like to think it would appeal to him.

Just read his profile on wiki, I notice he is a Scotsman which probably translates into him being a no nonsense bloke who will root out the crap in pretty quick time.

Stalybridge could be interested in him ?

I think he would need a much l;arger budget than we could offer him.
V*cs and M*cc managed this by whatever mean; Kiddie went bust nearly partly because of this and at Chester too he spent well. Not the sort of manager we should be looking for in my opinion.
Or am I just naturally against Macc and Vics managers?  ;)

I was thinking the same about financial matters, but then again, he doesn't have a football job now.

I would expect an iron side with Burr in charge

He didn't go the stalybridge game on Monday.

I don't think our budget is all that bad. If you trim the squad down to fifteen players I'm sure you could bring 3 or 4 in of much better quality than anything we'd let go of.

We need a bit of a name and someone connected otherwise finding the three or four we need just to find mid table by Christmas is nigh on impossible. How else can you find several decent players in September?

We've a top 8 Conference North Budget. And thats after making cut backs.

Next season I assume our budget would be larger.

Whilst Burt has spent money, did he spend lots on stalybridge?

I'm inclined to go for a good manager and see how he works on a lower budget rather than just going with a manager used to working on smaller budgets.

I'm sure they can probably adapt. Don't know if Steve Burr would be the answer but I would say I respect him enough to ignore his Macc and Vics spells.

He's been at a few of our games in the past so I'm sure he's aware of us and what was our squad.
