That is truly appalling behaviour from Dover. Pulling the plug at 2:59

I hope our RR chaps are ok.

And I hope this is taken a lot further...if they put a hand on our chaps I would bring the law in.

Tweet: @DoverAthletic Abysmal behaviour taking Radio Robins off air somewhat aggressively by the sounds. I hope this is taken further. You are a total disgrace.

Well thats great... I knew Dover was a sh*thole, I assume it is twinned with Barnet.

Here’s your radio robins update - we started well and deserved to be 1-0 up. Dover have come on strong though and we’re under the cosh.

Brian and I are still in the ground. The behaviour of DAFC has been scandalous.

Are you OK?

A few of us have emailed, tweeted, facebooked Dover. We are unhappy and angry at their behaviour

At the very least the RR team should be putting an expense claim in to Dover for mileage from moss lane and other reasonable expenses given it is a completely wasted trip

We’re fine. I think Brian telling their steward to ‘shut your f**king mouth’ after he pulled leads out of his computer to try and stop us broadcasting was his finest moment, of many.

That was indisputably pure Radio Robins broadcasting gold.

Also, he hadn’t succeeded in stopping you broadcasting at the point Brian said that!

Hartlepool’s reign as most petty minded irritating club in the league didn’t last long did it?  At least they did it for competitive reasons. What on earth do they gain from this attitude?  It’s like us advertising a supporters coach all week only to get down there and be told it’s all ticket.  What’s the socially distant equivalent of a riot?

I can fully understand the point of view from Hartlepool and at least their manager was honest about the reasons for it. Today's incident sounds embarrassing for Dover.
Perhaps it is time we stood up for ourselves a bit more particularly with regards to segregation when it is raining. Obviously when spectators are allowed again.

I emailed at half time. Basically complained about their live stream first - FIVE attempts to register, but every one of them told me to "use the link above". There WAS no link. Then complained about the deplorable attitude of the jobsworth who pulled the plug. If anybody can explain the alleged impact of our broadcast on Dover's "revenue stream" I'd be grateful ! Not having a viable registration link caused a bigger impact !

I told them they couldn't organise the proverbial in a brewery, and that I would never attend their future home matches against us (if any - I also told them I hoped they'd be relegated).

I doubt they've got the basic manners to respond.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the asylum seekers pitch up at Dover take one look at what a sh*thole it is and say.       “Bollocks to this “ and go back to whence they came.

Despite having media passes, advertising coverage all week and arriving at the ground and setting up the kit, it was at 2:59 when some bloke from Dover was heard on radio robins telling them to shut down and they weren't allowed to broadcast.  Brian explained to him that we had permission etc but they said no.  It quickly escalated when it sounded like the Dover chap started interfering with the equipment - obviously hard to tell over the radio but it did not sound very socially distanced(!) and Mr Flynn was moved to an exclamation not normally heard on Radio Robins!

They are claiming some sort of licensing issues connected to their live stream but I don't see how Dover can suddenly acquire all radio broadcast rights to a national league game.  It's got to be nonsense and I for one am fuming having been stuck outside yesterday afternoon unable to follow the game.  I can't imagine how annoyed the Radio Robins guys are having give up their time to go down there to provide the coverage.

The game was being covered by BBC Radio Kent which might have had something to do with it.

The York game in the playoffs was on local radio too.

I really think that maybe the club should communicate with Dover and ask why there was a problem in the first place.

I would be interested to hear their reply. If anything, I don't think Dover realised what little effect Radio Robins would have had on their viewing figures. But it may be their TV streaming company who put the block on them, either way it was very badly handled by Dover, and I had many problems trying to buy their live stream before the game.
Title: Re: Radio Robins| Dover Athletic v Altrincham
Post by: Bath Alty on November 01, 2020, 04:13:01 PM
But the streaming company don’t own any exclusive rights. The national league has not sold them off.  They have relaxed the usual ban on live streaming due to no fans in the ground. They haven’t given anyone the right to tell others what they can and can’t do.

Thanks for explaining what happened. That must be very annoying to say the least. Brian and the RR team do a brilliant job. Can we please be kept in touch with whatever come up as a reason for their behaviour? I hope all at Alty FC give RR their full backing. I am sure they will.
