Doncaster Rovers at home, just so we can see how many crosses Dean Saunders' team can get in during the 90 minutes.

Some obscure foreign XI.
Hasn't Niall Flynn got strong connections in Liechtenstein...?

Otherwise, how about an away fixture at North Ferriby United, so that our manager wouldn't have far to travel?

No thank you very much, I still have nightmares about our Trophy exit there in 2001 (?) under the shadow of the Humber bridge.

How about Wexford Youths away (not at all for selfish reasons, no sireeee)?

Wexford Strawberries..very nice

We should have City here again if possible. Good crowd for that fixture last summer and not a hint of trouble.

Whichever 3 clubs will bring the most income.

After last seasons pre-season we made a decent wedge, looked we had a decent defence, only to spend the wedge on several other dodgy defensive line ups.

I appreciate the need for lucrative friendlies, but I much prefer playing more realistic opponents, the alarm bells started ringing defensively at the Stockport friendly last year, prior to that we'd looked solid enough.I want to see us work round sides that bore a point out of you like Solihull. It would be nice to see the bulk of the main 16 starting the first friendly.I appreciate the need to wait for bargains, but if we can do our business early we can get them playing together as a team, rather than 11 individuals which we've looked like at times this season.Against realistic opposition.

Newport (Isle of White) Away - nice holiday in the sun / lash

Dorchester Town. Away - for selfish reasons :D

Geurnsey Away - just so we can tick it off on the map in a fun way before they storm up through the leagues and we end up there on a tuesday night in feburary

All three games could be done in a week a little 'tour' if you will, saturday, tuesday, saturday then home for seriouis training and a few home games. The trip might help with team bonding ya never know

An ideal southwest tour would be games against Portland United, Weymouth and Dorchester, 20 minutes apart, Portland on the Thursday night easing into it, Weymouth on the Friday night and Dorchester on the Saturday.
