This is an interestingly blunt thing for a manager to say: "Crewe Alexandra confirm that "Our former defender Mat Bailey will not be offered a contract by the club after spending the summer on trial with us. The former Stockport County and Northwich Victoria defender has featured in pre-season but was used as an emergency striker against Rhyl and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Dario told the club's official web-site, 'We won't be taking Mat. He will feel slightly hard done by because we haven't been able to give him a chance at the back in a game, but I've seen enough in training to see that he won't push himself enough to get into the team'".

and in fairness, who wants a player like that?

Matt Bailey seems to have been involved with Crewe forever, he's always there either training or been given another chance, very odd.
