I'm pretty sure that we must have made contact for Tony Gray (along with numerous other clubs), but Barnes Homer would be an interesting alternative - I'm a little surprised Macc have released him tbh.

That's because they haven't. Figgy is getting a bit excited. He's seen the retained list and assumed everyone not on it is released. It says continuing to discuss options with some of the 2014/15 squad.

That released list on the wraggs to riches forum Ballers

That's cos some Macc fan has just done exactly what you did you plank,

Although I didn't think he was great when we played them Fairhurst got 13 goals for them I think (including a great one at Kiddy) so I'll be surprised if he does move on.

Big released list at Fleetwood, I'd take about six of them, Roberts, Matty Hughes, Hogan, Schumacher for starters

Schumacher could drive the coach - very fast!

If we took 6 of them we would probably win the leauge but they are not realistic targets

I agree it's half the fun of close season ! But if we consider even released League 2 players, we're looking at guys wanting to drop from full time to part time. Last year we got Gillespie and Cavanagh. 'nuff said I suspect.

Extremely harsh on Cav - I think he played a massive part in steering us to safety, he played periods of some games on his own - and was badly missed at Blyth. Exactly what we needed for our first season back.

I don't know exactly how many games Cav played for us, but it didn't really seem to be enough for a first choice midfielder. I understand the decision to release him, but it will be difficult to bring someone in of equal quality. This is what makes me think that his replacement has already been decided - could be wrong though!!!
