Banks's Stadium, Walsall

For those of you who, like me, are yet to visit this venue.......

I watched the Walsall v Peterborough match last night. If the youth team set up to play in the same way as the first XI they will provide pretty tough opposition for our lads. Walsall had no particularly outstanding players, but as a unit their workrate was exemplary. They were perhaps helped by an inept performance from Posh, and I wouldn't have wanted to be on the end of the junior version of the hairdryer.

The ground is compact, and the playing area is not particularly big. The space between the touchlines and the crowd is also a little tight. It could be quite intimidating in front of a large partisan crowd.

The playing surface was not the greatest either. But the whole shooting match is ten times better than Fellows Park, which I visited twice (think Canal Street on a larger scale without the smell from across the river).

Let's hope we don't get bitter at the Bank's Stadium!

The club needs to turn its attention to this game now.  The nonsense with Sinclair is behind us now.

Really looking forward to this game on Thursday night - wish I could be there. I think it's bloody marvelous that we've got a bus going there.  Superb support Alty FC.
