Ian Ridley, today's Mail on Sunday :

"Amid all the deals on transfer deadline day, one escaped scrutiny. Crawley Town of the Conference - or rather their wealthy new backers - paid York City £275,000 for striker Richard Brodie. Yes, £275,000. In the Conference. And for a player out of contract at the end of this season. Crawley's average gate is just over 1,600. Rearrange the following phrase : tears end in all it could."

Has Ridley been reading our Forum ? Or is he just speaking from the viewpoint of a man who's already been through this scenario on the Dorset coast ? !
