Title: A question that has puzzled me for years....
Post by: Alex on April 06, 2016, 11:05:50 AM
When the opposition attack the golf road and everyone moves round to the popular side to watch us attack, why do some people choose to watch us defend?

I ask because i am genuinely curious, are you punishing yourselves in some sort of sadistic way?

Easy to pounce on the £1 pies when they come round! That's my reason...

I suppose some people just prefer a bit more personal space. Perhaps they aren't fond of the atmosphere in the corner during the second half, prefer to watch the match in a more quiet setting. Each to their own.

I stand on the popular side on the edge of the area towards the golf road end, in my opinion it is good spot to watch from. Personally I think it gives a great view of the midfield, I lean on the fence pitchside, give the liner a bit of stick and enjoy the game. Sometimes I don't move for the second half and watch us defend, I think that defenders are happy having a bit support at the their backs. If we get access to the chequers end I always go and watch us attack it, I think it gives a great view of the ground, I would be happy to stand there all game objections of the away fans aside.

Agreed. I wish to be allowed to stand where I please, preferably away from the singers, and most often behind the goal we happen to be attacking. Segregation is not something I welcome. However, the principle "Each to their own" is absolutely the right one.
