Right then first friendly today. Question is do we actually have a squad of keeping us up?

We have brought in a few very good signings, but defence still worries me. I think we need a half decent left back and maybe a centre back to backup tinson. (personally i dont want to loose 5-0 to york again).
Midfield is a bit short, maybe Asa can slot in there???

upfront we still lack pace, little is severly lacking pace, having had poor season, i hope he can come back - o'neil, hopefullly he can score freely or rodders and mcfadden will be called upon regulary.


pottsy and senior would add another dimension to our squad, i would like good wingers on both sides to give our attack more options.

anyone any idea of other future signings (apart from potts and senior)

We still have plenty of time to get a few more signings in. But remember that we have to be selective. We haven't got the money to splash out on big signings & we cannot get full timers.

I think we need more depth, but GH has made 3 very good signings and we are getting there.

Remember the old players have 1 mor years Conference experience now.

3. Give them a  chance we haven't even kicked a ball yet.

GH is looking at a left back apparently but no further details as yet. In fairness to him, he is as aware of our need to strengthen in all departments as anybody, but he is (quite rightly) not going to rush into anything. He's got a whoe month to look at players and assess their abilities and I'm certain one or two more new faces will appear during that time.

I feel  the signings are better than the players we have lost, they will add prescence to the team.

I am sure we will sign another 2 or 3 players in due course.

Pottsy was looking quite fit and agile this morning at training.

If it's any consolation we started our pre-season campaign last season with a home game with Darlington and we got absolutely walked all over 2-0. Back in the day we used to turn our noses up at Darlington as being inferior to us and so it was a bit of a shock to see them urinate all over what we thought was going to be a promotion-chasing side.

By May we were 1 game away from Wembley and had our best season in 13 years.

So, don't fret. To analyse the team at this early stage is silly nonsense.
