Someone's certainly smiling on Alty from on high now that two financial inept clubs have made way for you in recent years.

You may remember playing a side called Scarborough in years gone by.  It is almost certain that we will be liquidated after a High Court hearing on Tuesday and that Scarborough FC, after 128 years of history, will cease to exist.

The Supporters' Trust has developed a business plan to launch a new club, Scarborough Athletic, which will initially play home games at Bridlington.  The McCain Stadium is likely to be sold for housing after Tuesday's hearing.

Bizarrely the current SFC Chairman, Ian Scobbie, is also trying to apply for membership of the Northern Counties East League in the name of AFC Scarborough.  The NCEL now wants the two competing SFC factions to unite into one club.

As Alty kick off next season against Torquay, Exeter or Oxford please think of us starting at Staveley Miners Welfare or Borrowash Victoria.

I wish Scarborough - whichever form the club takes - all the very best.

Telford have been able to climb the non-league pyramid to a decent level & are looking good. I hope you can come to an agreement with Scobbie & do the same - I suggest Scarborough United

Yeah - Scarborough always gave us a damn good game - some right corkers through the years.

Anybody seeing a familiar story as Boston here...a few years in the big league and it all goes t1ts up on the money side.

Anyway - you will be back, dominate those smaller leagues after a season or so of finding your feet and then start to make your way back.

Good Luck (suppose there's no chance of the Ellender cash is there?!)

Ellander was at Alty - we nearly go tits up

Ellander was at Scarborough - they go tits up

Ellander's at Boston - they go tits up

Anyone else see a pattern emerging??

Give him to crawley. That way at the end of next season if we are in the relegation places we may just be the default boys for the third year running ;)

Dear Altrincham Seadog,

Very sorry to hear of your sad plight. I knew things were bad....I just didn't realise how bad!

It looked like it might be NWCL Division 2 in 1995 for us....but we managed to fight back.

Your position is no doubt different & may well be significantly worse..but who knows!!

Keep your chin up.

Regards
Brian

P.S. Why the change to Altrincham from Timperley Seadog?

Seriously best wishes to you all, a nightmare situation. A once big proud club in this situation is a sad sight, keep together and keep the fan base up and you will be back.

My sentiments of course are not extended to the big fu**er Leeds fan who stole my scarf at the Trophy semi in 1977!

Leeds are going down!!!!!

First of all, all the best to you and your fellow Scarboro fans, what's happened to you has frightened the living daylights out of me. Good Luck.

Secondly, FLynnys point about 1995 reminds me of the day I first found out that the conference were a pretty heartless bunch. With our troubles in 95 we thought the conference would bend over backwards to help us, us being the most loved member of the conference family and all that.

All they did was say we'd better have it bloody dorted by the AGM else we'd be out!  :o

all the best. Funny thing is football because if Carlsile weren't allowed to cheat and bring in Jimmy Glass then you'd probably be ok now.

I'm sure you'll come back bigger and better and hope the good days happen sooner rather than later for you all.

GOOD LUCK FOR THE FUTURE

Please sign their petition (about half way down this mailing) ..................

Dear Boro Fan,

As you are no doubt aware, Scarborough FC announced on Friday that in all
likelihood, the winding-up of Scarborough FC Ltd will go ahead in court on
Tuesday, and that the Club we all support will be going into liquidation.

Although obviously not wishing for such an outcome, Seadog Trust has
prudently been working on a "Plan B" for some time in order that football
fans in Scarborough still have a team to support next season. As such we
have applied to enter the Northern Counties East League (the highest league
in the pyramid that the FA will allow us to enter), and submitted a
membership form to the North Riding County FA. We have also produced a
5-year business plan for the new club - provisonally called Scarborough
Athletic - and have received a letter of intent to enter into a temporary
ground sharing agreement with Bridlington Town.

For further information, including details of how we propose to move forward
with the Supporters Club, please read the latest news bulletin on our
website: http://www.seadogtrust.com/news.php

The Northern Counties East League hold their AGM this afternoon - we should
hopefully know if our application is successful later today.

Ordinarily this application should be fairly straight forward, as we have
proved to the NCEL that we are capable of forming a football team that is
well planned, stable and above all capable of fulfilling a season. However,
Ian Scobbie has also begun the process of registering a new football club,
even though he was fully aware of Seadog Trust's plans following a meeting
with him on Monday 4th June.

The board of Seadog Trust strongly believes that the plan we have in place
is the one best suited to the long term future of football for Scarborough.
It is time for a clean break from the past, and our way forward provides
that.

Boro fan Nick Clarke has started an on-line petition calling for Ian Scobbie
to leave us, the football fans of Scarborough, in peace and allow us to form
a new football club. This petition will be vital in persuading the national
FA that our application is the better option, and we encourage all fans to
sign it as soon as possible. The petition can be found here:
http://www.petitiononline.com/SFCv2/petition.html

For those of you that haven't yet joined Seadog Trust, we strongly encourage
you to do so. By uniting at this stage we will be able to move forward
together to create a successful new football club that the whole town can be
proud of. Full individual membership starts at only £12 per year, although
of course we would be more than grateful if you were to contribute more.
Further details can be found in the membership section of our website:
http://www.seadogtrust.com/membership.php

Finally, please feel free to pass this e-mail on to as many Boro fans as
possible.

Thank you for your time.

Yours faithfully,

Simon Cope
