Don't really understand the appeal of watching players train.

Rogers could do with some passing practice though.

These applied to me at various times...

1. Beat doing homework.
2. It showed commitment to the team and club.
3. Tried to copy what they did at school, though as I went a crap school that didn't play footy it was all but impossible with a tennis ball and a packed school yard.
4. Bit of banter with the players from time-to-time.

nothing significant as you can see, but enough to get me to drag my sorry arse down to Moss Lane.

I only ever watched training a couple of times - but most notably the Thursday before the Rotherham 2nd rd FA Cup match.  We kept practicing this bizarre corner to edge of penalty area for Mal Bailey to volley in that we had never ever done in a game before.  He hit the target every time and did so again in the match.  As ar as I am aware we never did it before or since!

A few of us always used to make a point of attending the first few pre-season training sessions at Urban Road back in the 1970s.

In those pre-Internet days, it was often the first way of finding out which new player(s) had been signed...

There was many a World Cup won, A European Cup Final Lost and numerous other Finals either won or lost on that pitch at the bottom of Urban Drive. It was a half decent pitch in its day - The only draw back was if you kicked it over the fence at the far end into the Gas Board field you had to climb a fence to go and get the ball and they use to reckon the guard dogs would have you  :D (Personally, I never saw a dog in all the years I played on there) mind you I did always check just in case  ;)

Crewe Safeway once got beaten 4-0 by the short lived Alty Safeway on this pitch.

I was a big influence in 2 of the goals as my team lost 4-0!
