just wondered whats the best ground in non-league you have visit mine has to be the pirelli or St james park (Exeter)
-
The kassam! Great ground sh*t atmosphere though!!!!
-
moss lane ;D
-
Always thought kiddy has a great ground in terms of non-league. Good catering as well. Good size and usually get a decent enough atmosphere.
I enjoyed our trips to colwyn bay too. Loved taking over that ground!
-
Wembley
We've been 3 times, so we knw how good it was ;D
-
Droylsden - shame we'll never go there again though. Ah.....
-
Yeah Kiddy is a top ground 3 sides terracing the way it sholuld be in nonleague also Aldershot and Boston, bags of character and atmosphere.
-
This is difficult, a good ground to visit or good in terms of size and looks.
For looks I would say Kassam but as it only has three sides it cant be the best.
I thought vics might be in there but unfortunately that one is worse, it only has two sides !!!
Serioulsy if you are quoting a non league ground for authentic looks and atmosphere I dont think you can go much further than Moss Lane, although a roof over the 20/20 stand would improve it alot. I am sure the away fans may argue my point but I like it. A good old fashioned football ground.
-
Boston....lovely ground
shame about the locals
-
Boston is a fantastic old ground, Ive always been a fan of Aldershot aswell, but its only really got 3 sides. For me the two best in terms of character, atmosphere and authenticity I'd go for Moss Lane and Aggborough
-
Best ground vsited: White Hart Lane
Best Non League ground visited: Different ones for different reasons:
Food: Gainsborough Trinity (despite slow service).
Atmosphere and surroundings: Have always enjoyed my visits to Kidderminster. Always seem to make a lot of noise there and it's a nice ground.
-
Moss Lane may not be the best ground but it certainly has the one hell of a MILF in the catering van so it wins my vote!!
-
Never been to Kidderminster, so the Pirelli just edges my vote.
Decent view, food was cheap and good quality. It was also nice to see the first half highlights at half-time in the bar.
-
Has to be Middlewich Athletic: the cows in the adjoining field were fabulous specimens
-
and we 'took' their shed
them were the days
-
Bit of a difficult one to answer, as our awaydays tend to consist of a game plus a decent session in the local pubs. It for me has to be the sum of the parts. So I'll go with;
Burton Albion.........mainly for beer reasons. Not the local Burberry clad chavs.
Salisbury..............same, but fckn miles from town. Fairly chav free. No buses back unless you wait a day.
Bath City..............Ditto re beer. A fair trek but ok.
Weymouth............Err, ditto miles out but lovely town.
Kidderminster...good atmospheric ground with, lots of decent boozers, spoiled marginally by having to trek home via New Street
Buxton................top pubs in town but ver ver cold
Stalybridge...........only for that station bar
Cambridge............simply the greatest selection of real ale pubs anywhere. I'd go there if the game was off. Decent old style ground too.
Blackpool..............two great results back to back, old fashioned ground, wild weekends
York City..............again old trad ground, history, beer and very fast train to/from London.
Northwich.............Purely for gloating purposes.

four words of advice to summarise your list
drink pay for taxi
sadly not an option in the salt mine on new years day (i thank you mr and mrs warrington)
-
Greetings Gazelle. I'd add Hereford but never been, no longer Conference, how's your gaff for real ale?
Oh look 600th post!
-
kidderminster away is the reason to visit knighton
currently banks bitter on trad but if you book i'll get your favourite in as long as its a northern beer
How about a knighton pre match piss up before the kiddy game 25 per head based on two sharing and i,ll throw in a three course dinner and half a bottle of wine per person kidderminster is 45 mins away by car
-
Southport for me non league, Oh and the bernebau is the best ground otherwise, unbeleivable place
-
Nice offer Gazelle, sadly I'm on call for work on that weekend so its a non starter for me but I'd hope someone on here would jump at that?
-
Estadio Balear and Estadio Louis Sitar.
-
Blackpool.. old fashioned ground... well its been modernised shall we say and contains one stand that covers the North and West of the ground, on the East side is a temporary stand, and the South is an open area with bulldozers on, sadly I think the ground was better how you remember it with the Paddocks, great atmosphere.
Best non-league i've been to has to be Burton Albion, good food and beer and could watch the highlights from the first half on the tv monitor, think it was Lewis Chalmers who scored their last March when we went, good to see the goal. I'd say Oxford as well but it's a weird ground with a strange feeling. Suprised no-one has mentioned Rushden & Diamonds, looks a nice ground but i've never been and Stevenage.
Also Southport, Kidderminster, Halifax.
-
Rushden looks great but lacks atmosphere.
Cant beat the 4-sided ground.
I love moss lane and think we'd have a great ground with minimal modifications. The usual suggestions, roof on the chequers and another identical family stand on the other side of the main stand, connected to an extended bar. Lovely! Plus the centre of the popular all along that side.
Any idea how much this would cost? Could we get another grant towards improving the stadium? Would we have to front some of the cash?
-
Curzon Ashton is very nice...when bearing in mind the level at which they play.
Dont know how it came about with funding / grants or whatever...but very nice nonetheless.

Council owned, hence the Tameside Stadium used for community events and such with the astro turf pitches
