Has he left then?  It seems to have all gone quiet with no announcement?

he was mentioned in Seans Surgery notes in last night programme... Apparently he will soon have the screws removed from his leg as it is healing well...

Get well soon Tom..

So he's staying then?  As he had been left out of the squad listings had'nt he?

I suspect he was just a figment of our collective imagination.

He hasnt got a squad number... I am not sure what the future is for Tom either.   If as reported on here on numerous occassions that he may go to the USA if his wife moves there with her work  then possibly we have seen the last of him on the pitch.

I am hoping it is just rumours and he stays. Time will tell I guess..

One thing, we have a very good midfield just now and it will be improved even more if Tom returns

Much as I love Robbie Lawton and Anthony Danylyk for their work-rate and commitment, they basically do the same job. I'd let one of them go in order to accomodate Tom. Not sure we can afford to be light in other areas just to accomodate Tom whilst he regains fitness though. It was a bad, bad injury. If he's back to the same level he achieved last season by January I'll be surprised.

It's all a bit of a red herring this. If Kearney isn't even gettingthe screws out of his leg til next week it's going be a while before he recuparates, let alone get fit, let alone get match fit.

Even if he came back I wouldn't expect him to be any use before March at best so it's not too much of a worry either way.

The other aspect of a serious injury like Tom's is the psychological effect of playing again. It must always remain in the back of a player's mind once something like that happens, rather like getting back behind the wheel after a serious car crash. It clearly will depend on his individual character but I suspect those 50_50 challenges would make a player think.

He wasn't exactly a 50-50 merchant anyway to be fiar.

Shaun Densmore is though, those 2 in succesion late on last night were ace, the ref gave a foul for the  3rd one cos he was too scared to let 3 go.

I think he was booked for dissent actually as he said something to that black whistle blowing knobsock about one of the challenges he had before that the ref didnt spot!
