Mansfield Town's FA Trophy first-round fixture with Worksop Town on Saturday will now take place at Ilkeston Town.

The tie was to be played at Worksop's ground in Retford but has now been moved to the New Manor Ground after police advice about segregation issues.

And Ilkeston could become a temporary base for the Stags, who are currently homeless following a dispute with landlord Keith Haslam over rent.

They have also had talks with Alfreton, Notts County, Eastwood, and Worksop.

But chairman John Radford said Derbyshire club Ilkeston are the favourites.

"I like the look of Ilkeston. It's the right kind of ground for our current situation and will allow us to be promoted to League Two," he said.

"Hopefully we can announce over the next couple of days which club is going to become a temporary home to us.

"The fans are from Mansfield and we don't want to be travelling too far. Every game doesn't want to be an away game for us and I'm sure that the fans are loyal enough to travel to somewhere like Ilkeston or maybe Worksop."

I'm sure the crowd will be poor. They hardly take the FA Trophy too seriously, lowly opposition, away from the town.

It'll be interesting to see what happens in league matches though.

And you like the sound of that? Haslam, has messed this club up for 15 years now, but it's near a end.

Radford is taking him to the cleaners, and good riddance.

No, I DON'T like the sound of it - that's the whole point. I have absolutely no allegiance to Mansfield Town, but I wouldn't wish the Haslam's of this world on ANY club - not even Boston United. I sincerely hope the scoreboard reads Haslam 1 Football 2 (or more) in the near future. Good luck to you all for a swift resolution to the problem.
What I REALLY want to read is Mansfield Town 0 Altrincham 3 (well I can hope !)

Kidderminster are looking to playing in the AGM cup. They have attended a hearing concerning "financial reporting". Something Luton were docked 10 points for.

If they lose 10 points, they will drop from 5th to 16th.

BBC
Chris Swan has ended his interest in buying Blue Square Bet Premier side Kidderminster Harriers.
The Stratford-based businessman made a presentation to the board for a 100 per cent buy-out of the Aggborough club on 15 December.
In a statement the board said the bid had been seriously considered, and that directors responded within 24 hours with a counter proposal.
However Swan has now decided not to pursue his interest in the club.
Harriers revealed earlier this month that they have to find £150,000 by the end of December and then a further £50,000 by the end of January to secure the club's survival.
The Blue Square Bet Premier club's board has reiterated that it remains committed to securing the long term future of the Aggborough club.

Radford is taking him to the cleaners, and good riddance.

Wishful thinking I fear, he may have negotiated a rent reduction but he was trying to make it sound like a huge victory.

I fear Haslam is more savvy than you'd want him to be.
